My strange house

I’m living up to people’s expectations of Arkansans by not being able to figure out how to use this forum
Lol, I don't know much about the US but I like your sense of humour. You are doing better than I could, but I am from Oz lol.

A reflection was my thought as well, but there is still the question of the dog's behavior.

Will you explain what you mean when you say reflection? I expected to have it explained away when I posted it, but I’m not sure what you mean by reflection. I do think some of it looks like some kind of reflection, and two walls of that room have windows. Just FYI, it was a rainy day today so it wasn’t sunshine.
The only part of the video I can vouch for not being a camera phenomenon is the ball that shoots up in front of Henry. That’s what I saw with my eyes, and to me it was like the fluff that floats around outside from trees in spring time, only it was bigger and moved really quickly and unnaturally. I saw it jet upward and then it was gone, but when I watched the video it also zig zagged across the wall.
Honestly, my hope is always to have it explained away because I have to live here.

Hi Dawn and welcome to the forum. Great video by the way. Your home is lovely and what a sweet dog. I think the dog sees something and combining that with your history of activity, my opinion is it’s a ghost of some sort.

A reflection is caused when a light source bounces off of a surface. When light bounces off a smooth and shiny surface, it will reflect at the same angle it entered the surface. For that reflection to move, as in your video, either the source or reflecting surface has to move. Within the frame of the video, I can see nothing moving except the dog and you/the camera.

I have my doubts this is a reflection, but as I said, a reflection was my first thought. I do know dogs can see reflected light from a personal experience with my own dog many years ago when sunlight was reflecting off my watch crystal and onto the wall. I was using a screwdriver and the reflected sunlight was moving up and down the wall/ceiling. The dog, a very intelligent Shetland Sheepdog, sat mesmerized, her head moving in unison with the reflecting light as it moved up and down. It was very amusing at the time watching the dog's bewilderment.

Dawn, thanks for the post.

We have been experiencing strange things in our house for years and it seems to be getting more intense.

Thank you. I understand reflection...was wondering if you were talking about actual reflection—like from outside—or something caused by the camera like lense flare or backscatter or something like that, which is what I would have thought had I not actually seen it first.
But I for sure believe there could be an explanation that’s not paranormal. I’ve actually searched that room for a giant piece of fuzz. Haha
It wasn’t sunny yesterday and same weather today so I’m going to watch that room to see if those spots happen again.

Thank you!
I think he saw something too, and the barking and growling was out of character for him. He’s goofy and hyper but rarely ever barks or growls.

Hi! Do you know the history of your house?
Our strange happenings have occurred on and off since around 2006. Nothing intense or scary, just interesting and weird and a tad creepy.

Correction—the kid creeping into my room was scary.

I'd be inclined to think this was camera/lens related if not for you having seen it with the naked eye. A yellow moth also crossed my mind, that could also account for the dog's reaction prior to it taking flight if it had been crawling up the wall. The flight path and speed don't look right for a moth, however. Also I would have expected a moth to fly out of the video frame, no seemingly disappear within the frame.

The fuzz/dustball idea might have merit, especially if you can account for some source for an updraft within the home, such as your heat kicking on to propel it upward. What type heat do you have? Does it kick on and off, or is it continually? Any of sources of an updraft in that area?
