I think first contact will come as a result of an alien craft sending out a distress call and/or making an emergency landing on Earth.

I figured more like the beginning of "independence day"...….. seems that's the only way disclosure will come about, they just pop in and start doing whatever they gonna do...

My first choice is some form of radio signal that is picked up from somewhere in the galaxy, routine or distress. My second choice is some sort of derelict alien probe or wrecked space craft that enters into our solar system. I don't think there's been any contact as of yet. If there has been, we wouldn't recognize it, and so there's no secret to keep.

I'm with you on the last bit, I think world governments would rather have the populace think they are withholding information about ETs/UFOs than admit they know little more, if anything, than the rest of us.

I think they have been coming here for a long time and we aren't considered anything special,just a strange life form that is ruining the planet.Sort of how we see plague locusts.

They will never admit there are aliens. It will take action on the aliens part to bring public awareness.

Yes. And I think that has interesting implications. There is no reason to presume that aliens would even honor the hierarchical social structures that still govern most human activity. It may be the case that the alien selection criteria for interacting with human beings is something quite different than a person's position in the pyramid. That would be very threatening to those who still hold what I consider to be very primitive reigns of power.

Disclosure. Nada. Never. Nope. Control of information is the only option for the Powers that Be. I agree with Duke that in the end, they probably know LESS then we do. Why else would the idiots be attempting to poke holes in the Time/Space Continuum but total and complete - pure and unadulterated - stupidity. My thinking anyway.

First Contact. Ongoing since the beginning. We just THINK we don't recognize it. Consider the Whale Songs, The Universe Singing actually has been recorded - and Earths Song for that matter. As Debi introduced us to in a thread recently. We... YES, even the Human Children, are intimately entwined with those Songs and Sing ourselves. We can't 'un-connect' from that contact. It IS Us.

Now. We do have that pesky Free Will. So. We can pretend we don't hear it. Can pretend we don't EXIST only in Singing that Vibration... Or, we can ignore it. Or try to cast it aside or out... in all manner of ways. That enters into the Path of Self-Accountability.... but it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. lol.

Now... all those toys we have learned to love... Electronics can MASK the Song, contort it or make it fade in and out. As can microwaves, cell towers, radio waves, and you know, waves of stuff. Artificial NOISE for the sake of noise... talk talk talk turn that music up need the air on t.v. needs speakers plugged in car engines macho mufflers refrigerators running cold cold cold Alexa talk to me alarms beeping cell phone messages keyboards clack clack clack ~ serve to dull our Hearing, and even when everything is shut down and we turn to sleep - the mind runs that noise on automatic until FINALLY we fall asleep from exhaustion... that INDIVIDUAL choice we make every day dulls the sense's pretty good. Still, The Song Exists - if you See.

To go ahead and take you with me to my Rabbit Hole I'll offer this. Those humming mystery's effecting whole towns worldwide. The Booms. All that mysterious stuff like that - NOISE - is a last ditch effort to keep control. There is a War going on out there alright. We are HEARING the weapons of that War. Still. The Song Exists.

The Children will Hear/Resonate with that Song/Vibration and SING it full out - when it is time. Those who choose not to hear OR those who purposely fight to keep it obstructed. Oh Well. They will find themselves standing in a vast emptiness where Mother Earth WAS BEFORE She followed the Song as She always has and the rest of us will move with her. Contact. BAM!
