Overdriving the mic, imagine the recording level set for a good clear recording then shout loudly so the recorded sound gets distorted. This is clipping at the normal level it's being recorded at so the gain is too high.

Ohh, in case you guys missed it, the guy who started the whole Area 51 mess about invade it has cancelled the event, and today has SUED the owner of the Little Al'i'en! He signed a contract with her and is now suing her!
