This was a temporary house rented in Ellon Aberdeenshire.

It was built in the 1950's by the look of it so not amazingly old, just cheaply built by the council after the war in a modern housing estate. Nothing to think it could have any kind of activity there.
In 3 or so months there was no hint of any activity - other than a huge number of crows that roosted all around.

Then one night, I was sitting at the PC, while my partner was watching TV. It was about 5.30pm, and dark outside.
I suddenly felt another presence enter the room. I couldn't see it - but I could feel it was there. I asked her if she could feel that something had just come in, and she said yes there was something.
So I asked it. I said hello, and asked it to make itself known to us.
Less than 2 seconds later - the room lights went out!

I got up. the TV was still on, so I could still see to find the lightswitch. I flicked it both ways - but the lights were still off. I went to the fusebox in the hallway which was beside the front door. We could see the hall from where we were, and nobody had been in there. In the fusebox - the downstairs lights were turned off. I turned them back on there and they came back on again.

I said "Well there is something here then", and sat back down at the PC.
Less than 5 minutes later - the PC suddenly went blank, and the TV turned off.

Back to the fusebox I find "downstirs ring" has been turned off, but this time the lights stayed on. I turned the breaker back on and the TV came on again, but I wasn't going to restart the PC as it was getting close to dinner.

I said I was going to make dinner, and went to the kitchen. I ran a pan full of hot water and heard a click from the fusebox. I thought I would check it and found that the switch to the immersion heater that heats the water had been tuned off. This didn't stop me getting hot water, but the fact I was using it when it was turned off was significant......Plus there is no real connection between running the tap and a thermostatically controlled water heater turning off. I turned it back on again and went back to the kitchen.
I cut up some vegetables, and turned the cooker back ring on....BANG! - sparks shot out of it. I turned it back off pronto...but was also turned off in the fusebox. I said "Thank You - now you can stop it" to whatever was there, and explained we were happy for it to stay as long as it left us and things alone, and it did.

I gave up cooking that night and had fish and chips from the shop that night.
I called an electrician the next day, and after checking everything out he could not find anything wrong.

Nothing else ever happened, other than a very close flyby by all the local crows that swooped down in their hundreds right in front of the door and us as we stood there. If I had put my arm out one would have hit it. I have never ever seen them that close or in that number - the sky was black with them.

The strange thing about this one is that I could not see it, and I usually can, but have noticed that with the poltergeist activity I don't normally see them.

That sounded amazing! I would have been afraid if that many crows showed up, though.

I just found the action of a poltergeist turning the lights out was a bit corny, but not had it happen before this event. Interesting it proceeded to turn other things I was using off as well.

I did research for any deaths connected with the house, but the only thing I could find was that the town was burned down in 1308 and everyone slaughtered for supporting the wrong side by Robert the Bruce. Known as the harrying of Buchan. Even in those times the revenge taken was considered brutal.

Rowan, I can’t remember, are you in Scotland ? There is a long history over there.

That was a lot of activity. Have you been remodeling ?
