Paranormal Friends

The greatest thing about the internet is that with a little effort you CAN find people that will understand about the thing in your life that may trouble you. When you first find these people it is a wonderful thing to finally not be alone. Before the internet, it was almost impossible for people, especially young people, that they could talk to and feel understood and accepted. It is OK if you are different but if you are different and alone you feel like a freak.

For people of my age, there was only one way that our gifts were perceived by people in general. If you saw or knew things that you didn't get from a "normal" source you were delusional...even if you were right. The feelings of alienation caused problems and it was a lot like the old question, "Is it paranoia when someone REALLY is out to get you?" When you see and hear things that others can't see it doesn't always mean that you are crazy. Sadly to nonbelievers though it looks very much the same. How do you "cure" a clairvoyant of their "delusions"?

I only have one personal paranormal friend. He's a huge guy,in his 60's, looks like he'd kill you,but is the most sensitive open, person I've ever even heard about. He's great to talk about anything paranormal, but I think he takes it too far with some people as its ALL he talks about.Being so huge I think people are too scared to tell him to ease it down and end up looking like they want to top themselves after an hour or so lol. He's also such a nice guy that you don't want to upset him, because he would probably cry.In a way he is sort of disabled by his unrelenting, overwhelming interest in this.

Hey Ozentity. If you think your friend could make use of some other outlets for discussion on the paranormal, have him look into MeetUp.com.

I've used it before and enjoyed the heck out of it. If anyone has not heard of this, there's a free internet site and related smartphone app that allows anyone to search out groups of people with similar interests all over the world. Some local MeetUp groups also infrequently participate in global events too. There are groups for every interest you can image including most forms of the paranormal.

This is so true! I met my husband at a meet-up.

This reminds me of a former colleague whose father moved to live near one of his children after his wife passed. Long story short, the local polka club he decided to join through some internet meet up deal turned out to be a senior swingers group. His dad was pissed because he really liked polka music.

Um...Duke...I've attended many meetings with two different groups I found on MeetUp.com. And, I don't recall either one of those groups being a bunch of closeted polka dancers. I think maybe your colleague's father needs to do a better job of vetting which swingers groups he hangs out with.

We are very similar Tony. I am open about everything. Take me as I am or move on lol. I don’t have any paranormal gifts but I certainly enjoy the discussions.

I've been told I'm sensitive to paranormal experiences; I've had hundreds of experiences. I see, hear, and feel things...that are harmless.

Sage advice, I'll pass it along.
