UFO Documentary Uncovers Truth About 23 Year-Old Close-Range Sighting "The Extraterrestrial Hypothesis" is a half-hour documentary spotlighting a close-range UFO sighting made in April 1966 by four Sharon, Massachusetts police officers (one of whom went on to become Chief) - along with a family of three people. All were near enough to witness a "football-shaped," unidentified low-hovering object with red and white flashing lights, windows and "mullions" (window dividers). Also interviewed for the in-depth, local production - which was created over a 3 year period - is MUFON investigator Raymond E. Fowler, author of "UFOs: Interplanetary Visitors" and director of the Woodside Planetarium and Observatory in Wenham, MA. Mr. Fowler coincidentally sighted a similar object on the North Shore only 3 days after "The Sharon Saucer," as it had become known.
