good morning everyone. its a little chilly out after the storms weve had for the past two days. temps dropped 25 degrees over eight hours yesterday. ill be glad when it warms back up a little....( i know, lows in the fourties isnt really all that cold, but in the south it is considered winter....lol)....... hope everyone has a great day

Last year I was talking to my boss, reminiscing that we have always had a few "old" folks working here (37 years for me come February) and we didn't seem to have them anymore. It then struck me that I was the "old" person now, lol.

Good morning Lynne, GW. it was only 40 here this morning but after a temp of almost 70 yesterday that just feels colder than it actually is.... drastic changes dont allow for much time to acclimate properly.....lol... at least it will be back to the upper 60's in a day or so. i dont know how you guys do it in the real cold areas

Good morning all. Paint, I love "Fire" by the Ohio Players. For years that was the Hell's Kitchen theme song, until two seasons ago.

The days start getting longer again in three weeks! I used to enjoy winter, it was a nice break from summer heat, but I guess I am getting old because it has definitely lost it's charm. It's no longer just an inconvenience, now it's dangerous and painful.

On Tuesday afternoon I had to run my little wife to the hospital, she spent Tuesday night there with a severe gut issue. Fortunately they managed to get it under control and I got to bring her home last night, but it was scary for 24 hours. I was having flashbacks to her stroke in October of 2021, when she spent a month in the hospital. And after all the time I have spent in the hospital and clinics this year, I am at my limit. I got behind at work because I missed a day, and am not in great shape to make up the time. I have RSV or bronchitis, coughing up a storm, weak, but no choice but to soldier-on. If I can get through the next three weeks, we are shutting down for a week after Christmas (yearly maintenance week) so I will have a week to rest, and get ready for 2023.

Throw another log on the fire, have a terrific day, my friends!

You have certainly had your share of hospital visits. Let's pray it is over. Take it easy today GWU.

I was talking to a colleague the other day, a guy I've known and worked with for almost 15 years. He was talking about how things have changed in the industry and that it may be time for him to move on. He pointed to all the new "kids" coming in and then asked me "Remeber back when we used to talk about you being the young new kid in the industry" and I was torn between "That's what you thought of me?" and "Hey, I'm still... wait... um... yeah".

Just this morning I told my son that I don't know how to act my age because I've never been this old before.

Hi Lynne. Nothing set in stone except picking up my granddaughter at school this afternoon and stopping at the local farm supply store to buy some birdseed.
