Hurricane News

We didn’t get enough sleep last night because we alternated staying awake to watch the news. But we are thankful that we didn’t loose power. And, though there’s still too strong of rains and winds to navigate outside, I took a quick look in the backyard and don’t see anything obviously out of whack. The hurricane won’t get past us though until about 3AM tomorrow morning so nearly another 18 hours of this stuff is ahead of us.
Good news and thanks for keeping us posted on your situation. We do worry.

We used to go to Sanibel every year for our "vacation", even though we lived in Florida. Most of the areas hit hard are where we went yearly. I heard they are sending helicopters over to the islands to check on people. I think the change of path so late left many surprised and they thought they could ride it out if not a direct hit. Then they became ground zero.
I heard the same on the local Florida news.

I might have enough calories to invest in Earl Grey or a cup of Lemon Ginger tea then it is definitely off to bed. I do have dishes to do first though. Winds are kicked up for the final blow as we say Bye to Ian.

Jess rode out the storm in Tampa, once again the storm turned at the last possible moment and spared the area. But just to the south, Ft. Myers was about wiped off the map. It is heartbreaking.

Super quick update because I’m heading into business meetings in a minute. We are good and safe. The hurricane moved Northeast faster than planned at the last minute. So things calmed down here at about 6PM last night instead of the excepted time of 3AM this morning.

I slept well until a shelf fell of the wall at about 11:20 last night. Have to look into that this weekend…need my spectrum analyze to scan for ectoplasm you know.
