What was the ah ha! moment realizing you were truly experiencing the paranormal?

I had a number of odd experiences growing up but dismissed them as coincidence or imagination.
I felt the same way for a long time. Now at this stage in life, i believe we are shown what we need to be shown. Not everyone will have the same experiences, but in the end, i do believe there is a reason. For that reason, we can begin to doubt it as others have not had it happen to them. Certain abilities can be common where some are unique to each person. The blocks for me do fall down, just not all at once. The more we learn, the more they can start to make sense. There was a theory that once we learned all...we die...we have come to the end of the road and that's it. In terms of reincarnation, apparently that doesn't fit unless learning never ends. I learn something new practically every day...why shouldn't that apply after death of this iteration? There can be other challenges, other duties, other purposes yet to be learned from. I have been accused of being an 'old soul' by a few people. I guess that is a discussion for another time.

My great grandma lived on an old farm about an hour away from us, in an even more remote part of Utah. There was an old shed with a basement near the farmhouse that my cousins and I were told to stay out of. Of course we didn’t listen and investigated it plenty of times. We were around 7-8 years old. The basement had two rooms which were always locked. One day when we went to check it out again.. the one door was unlocked and open. We found several wooden boxes that were filled with black and white photos of people with the faces scratched out. While looking at them we heard faint footsteps coming down the stairs followed by loud banging coming from the other room. We bailed out of there as fast as possible and that was the last time we went anywhere near the shed.

I think I didn't understand why people didn't know things that were obvious. I also remember thinking all adults were liars until I was about 6 and figured out there was other things going on that I didn't udnerstand. No adult ever said what they really thought. I even remember (probably when I was six) my aunt yelling at me for listening at keyholes because she told a lie to a neighbor and I said, "you said..." which was very mean about the neighbor. I had never listened at key holes, that aunt was (and is even more now at 89) a little crazy and would say all kinds of stuff about people who weren't around, then be nice as pie to their face. She never paid attention to kids being around when she said stuff, but she would not admit that she was being mean. But even so, I knew what people were thinking and noticed how what they said did not match. By the time I was 9 I noticed my dad was hearing voices and thinking people were talking about him. The voices must have been telling him a lot of lies because he got really crazy as the years went by, everyone was his enemy sometimes.

But there was other stuff going on at that time too and until I was older I didn't know my brother was experiencing it worse than I was. We thougth it was ghosts or demons or something, but now I think it was poltergeist activity that could be attributed to someone else in the house. So, I don't think I ever had an Ah Ha moment exactly, just as I learned more about the world I understood things differently.

Mine was at 4 when I had black panther entities in my room often. I knew they were not real but they were too real to be my imagination. It's when I started feeling isolated from the rest of society, nothing much has changed, lol. Life has been a strange experience for me.

I always chalked this up to be being really young and scared. I remember watching Friday the 13th and when i went to bed, i heard noises in the hallway outside of my room. I hid under the bed and i distinctly saw shoes and the tip of a knife walking around my room. Way over active imagination? I don't know. But it was very real to me.

I think mine had something to do with my parents separating, I wasn't overly scared of the panthers as they were my favorite animal at the time.

The panther spirit animal stands for power and protection. This animal is a symbol of valor, courage, and determination. When this spirit guide comes into your life, you know that you have a fierce guardian. The panther is closely associated with the power of night and the dark moon. It is the symbol is a protective mother.

That makes sense as they would appear soon after I went to bed. They looked very real and they would walk around the room and on top of wardrobes.

The apparition that I described in this thread looked like St. Theresa, but it seems similar to Oz's experience because it appeared at a time of deep stress in my life.

When I saw the apparition I described, my parents were on the verge of divorcing. A year later they separated for good.
