Boo!

I was/am scared of heights. Working as an electrician, you will be up on ladders etc, so i did overcome most of that fear. I believe my 'recovery' really boosted when we were working on that 210ft tower. When i was a young kid our house scared me. As i got older, the house not so much...the woods all around us, yes.

Like Lynne, I don't like extending a hand or a foot off the edge of the bed, lest something grab it.

One of the scariest things I can remember was seeing a Doppelganger of my younger sister. I remember my mother ordering us girls to straighten the closet in our bedroom because there was a lot of stuff on the floor of it. And then, the entire family was standing in the doorway of our bedroom, staring incredulously at a little girl sound asleep on the floor of the closet. She wore one of my sister's favorite play suits.

I wanted to point out that there was a pile of clothing on the floor, but the way that they were shaped made an astonishing replica of a person who looked exactly like my sister.

That is scary.
Really weird stuff was going on. The room my brother was in had been occupied by my aunt and my cousin for a while and it was a very old adobe house. My dad was doing a lot of remodeling. There was no bathroom, only an outhouse out back so he put in a bathroom, taking up half the back porch that went across the whole back of the house. He moved some doors and windows too, put in a heater in the living room, etc. After my aunt and cousin moved out my brother got that room and the two little kids shared a room and I got a room to myself. And my dad was going to night school so he would get home 4 nights a week at about 9 and study until midnight. His desk was on the wall next to my room in the living room. He started hearing voices about that time too.

For a man who now lives with all the beasties of Australia, I would have never guessed this!
That was then Debi, I now swing through the trees on Brown snakes, wrestle crocs and buffalo and fight off evil entities. I'm very fearless, except when that black shadow of a man appears on the ground .

Jaha, I think you had every right to be fearful cuz I think you had a lot of paranormal stuff happening there!

And my shadow as a small child, it would chase me everywhere, lol. I really was a wimp looking back;th.
I had the 1982 (Marvel UK) Hulk annual as a kid, which included a story in which the Hulk is lamenting his lot and decides that the only true friend he has is his shadow. His shadow then comes to life and attacks him. I still have that book and love that story to bits, but it's a good thing you never had it or you'd have been traumatised. In another story, the Hulk makes a friend who turns out to be an android posing as a man. It's like a child's primer for paranoia!

I'd like to think it was a trick of light and clothing but I could clearly see her features and her hair color. She had chubby cheeks and these were clearly defined.
