As a forum, I know that most members are very involved with animals of all types.
Today's question involves them!

How much do you "pamper" your pets?
Are they fur babies and treated as one of the family?
Do you cook them special food?
Do you buy them special toys or treats?
Do they sleep in bed with you?
How much does your world revolve around the pets in your home?

If you don't currently have a pet, do you feed the birds or interact with someone else's animals?

We are now having to get vitamins for the English Bulldog. She also needed a new "slanted" bowl to help her digestion, she hogs the bed, she snores, and yet she is the focus of her daddy all day. Thank goodness he hasn't decided to dress her up or anything cuz I want new clothes before the dog. lol

The genesis of this question comes from me noticing how much our day revolves around our dogs. They are very much the center of our world.

I live vicariously through everyone elses pets. I have watched my friends dogs when they went away, i play with all of them when i visit. They know when Uncle Steve comes over for sure. When i am at work, the owners pets tend to like me as well, minus a few little tiny angry dogs that probably don't like people in their space. My apprentice always said i get along better with animals than people lol.

Not quite the topic, but hope you'll indulge me.

I had a rescue Aussie Shepherd dog I named Sage. She had apparently been subjected to some very nasty training in her past, and unfortunately, that trainer must have resembled my mom. Mom drove eight hours to meet her new "granddog", and Sage took one look at her and ran to her bed in the other room. Mom was heartbroken. But over time, using patience and lots of treats, Mom won her over.

In their later years, both Mom and Sage were diagnosed with cancer. They both lived much longer than expected, and Mom said they had the bond of being "amazing survivors".

But the cancer prevailed, and Sage and Mom passed away six months apart. I hope they are walking together now, and Sage will be waiting for me at the rainbow bridge.

A sad but beautiful tale, Walk, and I thank you for sharing it. :<3

Well my two boys surely domesticated me.

Walking back to the laundry room I turn the corner and Hank Aaron is using his box.
I turned away, " Excuse me. "

Shadow T. Cat used to love it when I would broil chicken thighs and hand pull the meat for her. She would impatiently look in the window of the oven like the Cookie Monster.

Good topic! Let's see...Zoey weighs only 8 lbs, but when she decides to lie next to my legs at night, the blankets are hard to pull up because she is smack dab in the middle of the bed. Sheena is good for a cuddle; she went from running away from us to allowing us to scoop her up and cuddle her, or lay on a folded blanket on either lap while watching TV.

There are currently two cat fountains; one on each floor which filter water. There are three litter boxes and two kitty condos that are seven and five feet tall. We buy their favorite food by the case, and I am always buying new cat toys. They are the center of my life and I will spoil them all I can! (Unlike people, they appreciate it!)
