The Ghost in Alexa

Sergeants run the army. I've known high-ranking officers who don't like to be on the wrong side of certain sergeants, lol. My grandpa was a career army sergeant, he played the part all through retirement and up to his last breath. I was always respectful around him. In fact both grandpa's were on the dour side.

in a lot of ways, they ARE the ones in charge.......... Lt's get their rank from the classroom, (and they remain clueless until a bunch of grunts teach them the ropes, and how to survive, just enough for them to then become angry Capt's cause they get stuck in a position (and station) they cant stand and have to put in the time to move up to Major. Majors can be cool, more laid back and experianced, usually happy in their position... until they are forced to become a Colonel in training, (Ltc), running errands and getting coffee for the real Colonels....lol..(back to being angry? or either using that clueless facade they learned so well as Lt's....lol)...then they may get lucky and actually make Colonel, then, who knows what they actually do....lol.... they then fall back on depending on the SGM to actually run the batt's, and covering their butts with the Generals....lol..........(of course this is a generalization and im just speaking of the Army, the Airforce is another game...maybe Duke can say whether its the same over there....lol..... i shouldnt say much about them boys, im Army, and a grunt on top of that, i will probably offend someone, or at least make them cry....hahaha)
I did not like working with or especially having USAF majors work for me. If majors got passed over for O-5, they usually were forced out before getting their 20 years required for retirement. The promotion rate for non-rated (meaning not aircrew) majors was right around 50%, so those guys/gals tended to look for ways to separate themselves from their peers, hoping for a better, eye catching OER. People like that were often disruptive to the mission team concept I always tried to maintain.

common hazard and problem in REMF positions. too much competition for advancement. now, Majors can be touchy with independant contractors or higher-up's coming in and changing their routine on how they run a unit or dept. but overall usually still better than capt's. or others to work with...lol..... of course being Infantry is a whole different world from the 9-5 office jobs of rear unit politics....

This reminds me of the "Tesla autopilot radar sees ghosts" story that made the rounds a few years ago. When that was all the rage, I was contacted by a former colleague, a USAF Lt Col, who actually believed the story after seeing "ghosts" on his Tesla radar.
I'd like to see that video.

I found this on YouTube. I'm not going to post the video my former colleague sent since it's from his Facebook account and gives his personal information.
Wow that is amazing! Thanks Duke for taking the time to look that up. So if I understand right, the radar on the front of the car is showing the ghosts. So is the pic on the screen the actual shape and movement of the entity? or is this a computer recreation of what it registers as a person and uses a standard pic.? This would make a very good ghost hunting tool, are people using this? In a hand held divice it would be very useful.

It uses standardized avatars. This isn't really picking up ghosts, it's a system glitch. If I can find it, I'll post the article that explains what's really occurring. It's my understanding Tesla has replaced this technology in its collision avoidance system in its newest cars.

Oh darn, I was thinking it was really picking up on unseen people.
