The Brain Chips are coming!

I read a work of fiction called "Feed" where people had some kind of apparatus in their brains so that when they walked down a street the billboards would start displaying items that were relevant to them. Sounds like it is coming true!

That's already partially true with the targeted ads on your computer. They know what you have looked at or mentioned anywhere on the web! And...sometimes...in you home.

Now I can see the plus in the medical world. But ya just know if this works, everybody is going to be wanting this "enhancement". Except us older folks who see the reality of a transhuman future and know why it's not a good thing.

I know that I don't find a trans human reality at all appealing.
I've thought a bit about this. I think the younger generation sees computers and chips as a "natural" kind of thing. They were brought up surrounded by an internet, cell phones, and all the bells and whistles that go with this kind of thing. Many don't see a "line" between adding a chip to themselves vs. using a device in hand.

At the risk of sounding like a conspiracy theorist, I think that this was the plan all along.

Yet, Elon Musk has always warned us about the potential for AI to go wrong and turn against humanity. Here we are, designing and testing chips, that will have some sort of interaction with the real world, to attach to a human brain.

Can't see how it could possibly go wrong.......

I think that if I was young I would probably go for it if it was both ways. I would like to be able to have a hook up to endless information. I think so much faster than I can read or write. Imagine being able to absorb and share information and thoughts at the speed of thought!!!

It's possible this can be used to turn humans into true robotic slaves that don't complain, use restrooms, require extra income or time off work. They just do what they are programmed to do, and the real individual is stuck in a prison unable to get free. Think about that.
