Mammoth Tusk Found at the Bottom of Pacific Ocean

It doesn't surprise me, last year when I was living up the coast we had floods and 70 head of cattle off one property got washed into the ocean, never to be seen again.

I didn't go swimming up there after that, apart from the chance of being smashed by a cow corpse in the surf there was a few shark attacks on swimmers/surfers, one fatal. I think all up there were around 150 head of cattle reported lost to the sea and only one washed up and it survived.

That is horrible. The loss to the poor rancher.

That coast line must be rough and unpredictable.

I wonder if they can get viable DNA from this tusk? I know there is a group of scientists trying to amass enough to clone one. I am totally on board with this and can’t wait to see a live mastodon. Note I did not say I hope they repopulate the planet with them. What a wonder to see it would be.

So, couldn't the tusk have just fallen off a boat?

And, a marine biologist named Haddock? Is this a joke?
