Breakfast cereal, anyone ?

I only had cereal as a child and the only one I can remember having was Sugar Puffs. Once I realised I could have toast instead, I ditched the cereal!

I don't eat breakfast on a work day as it's too early in the morning for me to stomach anything more than a cup of tea, but at the weekends I do enjoy a nice breakfast.

Crumpets are a favourite but I also really like to have eggs, either poached or scrambled.

Honestly Critter, I’m a huge Grape Nuts fan. I don’t like a bunch of sugar in the morning. So with Grape Nuts, I can essentially flavor it anyway I like including controlling the sweetness.

I tend to eat a bowl of my mixed cereal when I'm not sure what I want. This can be any time of the day or night. It's quick and easy and gives me time to think about what else I may want.

I don't eat breakfast or lunch very often. When I eat cereal it is usually as a late-night snack. I pretty much quit eating in the morning or day when I was about 20. I lived alone and just didn't bother with it. When I got married my wife wasn't a big breakfast person and so we just don't bother.

If I eat it makes me sluggish and is more trouble than it is worth to me. If I eat I gain weight. I gained weight on a strict 1000 calorie diet and so just stopped eating every day. For a couple of years I only ate every other day through the week and some on the weekends.

Honestly, I am sort of backwards to most people. When I eat I don't seem to have much energy but when I am running on empty the BEAR is on the prowl! I went 14 days without eating one time and have fasted for a week too many times to count. After about three days I feel GREAT!!! LOL, my Mama would get the vapors if she ate any meal 30 minutes late. I drove her crazy! She was just sure that I was going to starve to death...

I love good food but I just can't seem to keep my weight where I want it if I eat all the time. Even with my weird eating habits, I am 6' 2" and weigh 220. If I don't restrict my intake I balloon to 250 or 260.

Tex, intermittent fasting is a real thing. Phil Mickelson used it to get in shape and win the PGA Championship. I have a buddy from college that has been doing this for many years. He was a Big Ten fullback and also ran track. Once or twice a week he does not eat solid foods. And he has maintained his track weight in his mid-fifties. 6'3" 205#.
Good for you , Tex.

I love a good bowl of cereal. However I rarely eat it for breakfast. Usually I have a bowl of cereal for dessert after dinner. I don't mix any of them together, mostly because I'm too frugal to buy a lot of different cereals. Typically I get two boxes at most, one that I like and then let the kids pick out something that's far too sugary for my tastes.

Great Grains Pecan with Great Grains Raisins, Dates, and Pecans and Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds. I mix them in a large Tupperware container and eat 2 scoops every morning with almond milk. Yum!
