Who was Best?

Graham Norton or Johnathan Ross (although the latter is more dubious after his faux pas regarding Russell Brand's radio show and Andrew Sach's grandaughter...). Oh, and Dame Edna back in the day! She was fabulous!
I've never liked Johnathan Ross, but agree on the other two!

Cavett's shows were different than those of the other three, more intellectual and thought provoking. I still remember his interviews with Groucho Marx and Mohammed Ali.
I think Cavett was a writer for Carson early in his Tonight Show tenure.
and those b*&^h fights between Norman Mailer and William Buckley Jr. (they hated each other..)and Gore Vidal (I loved him)Also John Lennon. His Kate Hepburn was great..Many others... Cavett really was wonderful..oh and you must see the one with Chad Everett and Lilly Thomlin where she walked off because of his ignorant macho-macho man comments..awesome

I started watching him since 2007 in the UK.First BBC 1 for a couple years, then BBC 2 then U.S . I actually was pretty convinced I had seen him in 2000 but maybe he time traveled or i did

AHA! Found it!
Norton began his career on the BBC in 2001 when he hosted Comic Relief 2001.
