Spring meal changes...

I felt like I was mildly tripping the first time I tried it.
Thinking about it, Covid damaged my sense of taste, but I think it's coming back. I don't think I'd have been able to experience that a month ago. I also noticed things about a Rioja a few hours ago. :)
I think this stuff may have shocked my system back to life!

Reminds me of me and my GF J but you didn’t use enough c@rse words.

I kinda headed that whole soul sucking conversation off today by buying a bunch of small (6 to 8 ounce) premade things like pasta salads, chicken salad, lunch meats and cheeses, quinoa with sweet potato, mixed veggie tray, tabbouli, etc. I’ve got every angle covered. ‘’No, I think I want state faire fried food tonight...”. Check, I even bought frozen hotdogs on a stick :p, lemonade, and ice cream cones!
LOL Good one!

I do this too, and yet every day I can still manage to not want any of it and then loop back to Jadz's post. In fairness, I do have a health issue which means that every time I eat floors me for about four hours after, so it's no surprise that I've become touchy about the subject, but with spending all my time at home lately, it has escalated into full blown madness. I also have to incorporate any snacks I might want into the meal too, so it might a banana (for my own good), deep fried battered haddock and chips, a salmon and cream cheese sandwich, a few peanuts and then (recent insane event) Dynamite Chile Marmite on toast, which I don't need, but is... I mean... This madness exists. Marmite is already a cultural insanity like eating the smell of a locker room, a beer burp and lots of salt... but now it tastes even more wrong, has a mild afterburn, a rush and the sense that sanity and good taste are for people who will never truly live!
with Chile?! That's a new one! I don't eat it often but sometimes a nice cuppa of PG Tips and Marmite on toast sure hits the spot. yum

It's a limited edition burst of insanity. I'm going to stock up. It's my kind of insanity.
yes that will certainly clean out the carburator! So,Benway, how bad did you have Covid and what did it feel like? My biggest concern was my mom getting it and secondarily that I might get it and lose my sense of smell which being the perfumista that I am, would be devastating.

Not that it couldn't still happen! Getting vaccinated is not a get-out-of-jail-free card but certainly a must-do. I'll prob be wearing a mask for months. I'm trying to set up my first microchip..er..I mean....GPS...er I mean...mind control chip..er..I mean VACCINATION. That's what I mean! In a week or so. I am also selling tin foil hats.

Well, not dead, so I suppose that counts as okay, but when I got it in March last year I was sick like with a bad flu for about two weeks, then got better for a few days, but then it came back and hit my lungs. I thought I was going to die, but didn't (and Debi was amazing!) then couldn't exert myself for months without gasping for breath. September there was a really bad storm and I went out in the torrential rain with thunder and lightning going and found I could jog... and run! I ended up sprinting around the sports field laughing like a lunatic while THIS was happening less than a mile away:

Then I got it again in October for three weeks and it wasn't as bad, but I lost a small part of my sense of taste and my armpits now smell like some other guy is sitting too close.

There were some moments of drama pathos and, yes, some bathos too, but all in all I rate Covid as a total failure. 1/10 Avoid!

woaw. I'm sorry you had to go thru that....so scary. Did you figure out how you might have caught it?

Hard to tell, but the first time was pretty obvious. It was during the panic buying food shortage thing, so I had to trek around shops looking for stuff and nobody knew about masks or distancing. Second time, I'd been hiding out but shopping still so it was probably an anti-masker. They've gone round here now. The only person I saw wothout a mask lately was an old lady with a 'can't wear one' lanyard and who'd been vaccinated.

Benway, do you hold your nose when you eat that stuff or do you just prep with a deep breathing exercise with your socks taped over your nose holes?
