Hi Lynne! I feel pretty good now, but I know myself well enough that after everything I went through in the last year it would be a good idea to talk to a professional about it all. However, that's me and millions of other people, so there is a long wait! I did turn down an offer of support today but that was wrapped up in office politics relating to somebody else, so... well. No. I count her as a friend and that was her boss plotting! I talk to the monkey, not the organ grinder!

Having someone to talk to who is outside the situation is always a good thing. I'm glad you're willing to!

Oh, always if they can help! A councilor really saved me from myself when I was a teenager, and when I worked selling booze, people confided in me a lot. Even if the person is useless, talking to a non-interested person about things is often worthwhile. Standing too close, a thing may be terrifying, but talk to somebody who doesn't really care but cares in a detached and helpful way and it sometimes turns out that the giant terrifying monster was an ant on your sunglasses.

Very true. An un interested person has no hidden agenda or motive. They will give you the truth and you can feel confident in it because of their un-association.

True. A friend will probably try to gloss over anything you are doing wrong yourself, or agree as a default. It's good to get some unvarnished perspective!
