Cheap or Real Deal?

Paul, I noticed your Ryobi miter saw when you took the picture of the mirror. Good tools.
But then again I have quite a few Harbor Freight power tools also. For example I will use a Sawzall for about an hour once or twice a year. No need to spend.

Golf clubs? I buy the Maltby design clubs from Golf Works in Ohio. They have a cult following among club builders .I got my irons on a tremendous discount. $400. Regularly $600. If those irons were stamped Titleist or Callaway or TaylorMade they would run about $ 1,600 . That is a price disparity and not a quality disparity. Tiger and Phil have to collect their 20 million dollar sponsor fees.
It's a game, a hunt. Thrill of the chase.

Last year I got some fancy Japanese iron shafts that retail for $35 and I got them for $3.95 a piece. The factory mismarked the diameter of the shaft.
Bought a $500 Wilson driver for two hundred bucks, but it was two years old and new in the box.
It's fun. Just bought a $300 putter that is 10 to 12 years old and new in the box for $80.

I'd introduce him to Sainsbury's instant coffee, but I'm not that cruel.
Speaking of UK store brands, I was surprised to find the major food store chains in the UK sell their own brands of alcoholic beverages. I can't remember if it was Tesco or Sainsbury's where I bought a bottle of their Irish Whiskey. It was a few pounds cheaper than the name distillery brands, and better than most mid price range whiskeys I'd tried.

For those of you who are fans of vodka, in the USA, CostCo has a Kirklands brand that is soooo smooth. It is sincerely as good as Grey Goose brand. I do have to warn though that I think CostCo has two different vodkas. So I ask you to be cautious and get a small bottle of either one - or better BOTH - so you can confirm which is the good stuff. I’d be happy to better direct you but it’s been nearly a year since I bought a bottle so my apologies for any confusions.
