In the fall we annually see new TV series appearing, but often "new" series have been spunoff from other series. For example PNF favorite "The Andy Griffith Show" was a spinoff from "The Danny Thomas Show."

Share with us spinoff shows you remember, as well as the shows they spunoff from. Which did you prefer and why?

Frasier... spun off from Cheers. Loved the ensemble group on both shows. Probably enjoyed Frasier more.

The only real spin off I watched was The Lone Gunman that was a spin off from The X Files. Dean Haglund (Langley), Bruce Harwood (Byers) and Tom Braidwood (Frohike) reprised their roles and while I enjoyed it, it was cancelled after a single season. But it's been about twenty years so it's been awhile.

Beverly Hillbillies > Petticoat Junction > Green Acres.

I like Green Acres best because I think the lead actor and actress played their respective characters so well. Eva Gabor’s, ‘’Oh Oliiiveeeer.”

I'm with you, I think "Green Acres" was one of the funniest series in TV history. Probably the greatest ensemble cast ever. And I've had my share of "Oliver Wendel Douglas moments" in my life.

While in college, a friend of mine almost died when his appendix burst. A group of us visited him in the hospital. When he complained the hospital TV system only got three channels, I pointed out one of them, a local, low powered UHF station, played four "Green Acres" reruns every day. It was clear he wasn't a fan.

The next evening, my friend called me. After I said hello, he simply said, "You son-of-a-%×*@." When I asked what the problem was, he explained he had watched GA, and laughed so hard he tore out his stitches. "I could have bled to death and it would have been your fault, you @#%*."

I think Laverne and Shirley was spun off from Happy Days. But also the less beloved Joanie Loves Chachi. and also Mork & Mindy!
Three's Company spin-off The Ropers.
Law and Order spin-off about 2.3 million other Law & Order shows.
