The guy told me. I may have been assistant manager (or ass manager, as I liked to joke*) but I was very friendly and down to earth. We were chatting about stupid things we'd done at work and he dropped that bombshell. I had to give a speech. Honestly! I know I pointed out that they were only employed 15 hours a week and had 153 hours to boff each other senseless, but we were paying them a pittance to keep their pants on for just a few hours a week and do some work and also that if I ever heard that the shop had been mysteriously shut when they were working from any customer then they would have to shag at McDonalds instead. I didn't put it in any report though or tell the manager. We stayed friendly and I don't think they did it again. Honestly, people do get annoyed if the shop's shut, so it would have been found out.

I never did anything like that at work. I just built a gigantic throne out of cases of booze and would sit on it surveying my kingdom and saying 'my precious' a lot.

*which was pretty appropriate in this case
You need to write a book lol. Loved this story Ben.

Lesson learned--Don't mix hand sanitizer with liquid antibacterial soap.

*Note to self--Next time, buy the colored liquid soap, not the clear liquid soap
What happens?

As for me, Peterborough has only had its infection rate double in the last two weeks, not multiply by ten, so we are in the lower risk zone compared to much of the UK. I'm still being ve-e-r-r-y cautious though.
Apparently, not cautious enough. :( I just sent off for a test kit. I have a fever, cough, chills, sore throat, aches and fatigue. Again. At least I have more supplies this time! I'm off to try and sleep some more.

Aww jeez, Ben! They have shown people are reinfecting. Please take care of yourself and keep us posted on how you're doing.

In bad times satire helps a lot.

I must have missed this when you posted it. It reminded me of this satirical "Letter to the Editor" regarding COVID and the wearing of masks. I don't remember if this was posted here before, and I suspect it wasn't really published.

Hope you are feeling better

Thanks everyone. I'm still fuzzy headed (I feel like that for a few hours after eating, so that plus this is like double flu brain), so just a few words. After sleeping through most of the last 48 hours with a fever, I'm at least awake today and the cough has gone. At this point I'm hoping it's flu. What kind of a screwed up year is it when I actually want to have flu?! The local infection rate has jumped again from 40/100,000 to 70 in a week, but given the time of year there may be more flu around. I'm awaiting a test kit which should arrive tomorrow. A stick and instructions on where to shove it! Fun awaits.

Edit: I just checked my E-mail. The kit will arrive... Friday! Then I have to send it back. (How? Night trip to the post box?) then 2-4 days (it will not be 2!) before they e-mail with the results. So, if all goes well that's 8 days from when I called it in. Could be better, but at least I actually get a test this time!
