The Healing Power of Cats

I feel for you WG,my dogs keep me semi sane but also drive me crazy at times, lol.
I really like your pic ozentity. I have black cat with green eyes that looks just like your avatar. His name is Boo. He is a real player. Every one of my cats has their own personality as Im sure your dogs do too. If Im not paying attention to him he sneaks up on me and nips me to make me pet him. He is super smart too. Not shy about being an attention hog either.

Mr. Garnet was always a dog person, until my former cat Avalon converted him. She had real "tortitude," being a torby. She always demanded a chair be pulled up for her if I had a friend over for coffee, and then she would meow all through our conversation. If someone knocked at the front door, she would run over and meow until I answered it. Near the end of her life, she preferred Mr. Garnet's lap over mine and would always wait for us to settle in front of the television before jumping up into his lap. God I miss that cat!

They are so remarkable Garnet I agree. I am sorry to hear about Avalons passing as I had two cats that have passed that I miss. Max came to me in 99 out of nowhere and was my best friend until he passed in 13 in my arms. I am not a crier as its just not in me but i cried for two weeks in private at his passing. I still remember all the things he taught me and all the crazy stuff he did while he was alive. In those days our area was very private but had a sidewalk. He would walk around the block with us and the poodle. He would hide in the bushes and wait for the dog to go by and jump her. Every trip he did the same thing. Finally as he got older I had my yard cat fenced and he had plenty of room to roam and be the little predator he was at heart. One day he came home after we let him out with a rabbit two times his size and put it on the porch for me. He looked at me and meowed. I have a picture of him on my shelf by my deceased relatives as he was like a person but better. I know some people will get that so Im just saying I cant wait to see him again. I dont think he will reincarnate while I am still alive but I am not Creator so I dont know, The other cat was melborne who we adopted. He was very sick and an older lady that lived nearby asked us if she could have him and pay for his vet bills. I said yes as mel was being harrassed by the others who were not as sophisticated as he was. One night I dreamed mel came to me and we ran in the woods together . I know it sounds wierd but anyway a few days later she said he had died peacefully in his sleep. He came to visit me before his leaving. I had a teacher (elder) who said to me that the only thing that lasts is love. From incarnation to incarnation its the most powerful and always rewarded. I thought he was nuts at the time as hate seems to keep going too. I do see what he meant though. I am sure Avalon checks in on you and IMO if you are young you may see Avalon again maybe . Just my ramblings.I stopped dreaming about Max about three years after his passing,

My dog was named farful. That means noodle in German. She was a rat terrier that passed when I was 16 as she ws so sick we had to put her down. I didnt won a dog again but my spouse and I had two dogs . She adopted them and I ended up taking care of them often but they were her dogs. I went to a psychic awhile ago that I trust and she said I have a dog around me that is black and white that keeps rolling in the grass. Farf rolled in every stinky place in town and I was always giving her a bath in the tub per moms orders. I hadnt thought of farf for 40 years when that medium brought that up. I guess they do watch over us and maybe wait for us too. I dont know. My cats names are usually generated by my daughter who thinks up cute names that people will like. If I had to name them they would be John, frank, mary, sylvia, people names which drives some folks crazy. lol

I was a dog goose in my youth but as age came I have cats to thank for my mental health, or lack of it. We foster kittens for a local shelter part of the time. I never knew they carry certain patterns of color and detail that seems to repeat per the father . One female we fostered her kittens. She had 6 and two were tigers. the other orange, one mackeral tabby, one that looked just like my cat waffles that passed a few years ago. It is hard to give them to the shelter but if I didnt Id have about 150 cats which while something I wouldnt mind I dont think I could handle it. Totem animals IMO are a real thing and some of us still carry the animal with us. Mine is cougar but since I havent seen one only at the zoo it makes sense that cats come to my house and they are important to me. I like dogs too. But something I thought Id never say is true. I am a cat person. lol
I love all animals and have rescued many in my life but cats seem to be drawn to me. They are always wandering in for a meal or a fix up. So I understand that situation. Can I ask what you mean by you were a dog goose in your youth?

I liked dogs more and had one as a child and teen. We never had a cat as I was allergic and outgrew it. I dont mean I was a goose, just making a joke as people associate the avatar with the person and me having a goose. Well, you know what I mean.

Thanks , sometimes in writing we don’t always get the right take. Makes total sense.
