GROWING UP WE ALWAYS HAD "HOUSE RULES"...AND YOU HAD BETTER DARN WELL FOLLOW THEM WITH MY MOM IN CHARGE. SHOES OFF AT THE DOOR, NOBODY GOES INTO THE LIVING ROOM BECAUSE HEY THE WHITE CARPET IS NOT TO BE ACTUALLY LIVED ON, ETC.

IN MY HOME, MY HUBS SET A RULE THAT WAS UNBREAKABLE....NO HATS IN THE HOUSE OR AT THE TABLE. EVER. I CANNOT TELL YOU HOW MANY HATS WENT FLYING OFF MY KIDS HEADS AS DAD WALKED PAST THEM.
WHAT KIND OF HOUSE RULES DID YOU HAVE GROWING UP? WHAT RULES DO YOU HAVE IN PLAY AT YOUR HOUSE NOW?

no hats at the dinner table, or inside for that matter....and was later re-inforced in a certain career field...lol.... always had to eat dinner at the dinner table as a family. really didn't have too many rules though.. was just taught how to behave and act like I had a little since......lol

Hmm.
One night, my FBI uncle and my Dad came up on us in the street. 4 cousins having fun. Booze & clubs.

"Son, boys, you have to cut off the power drinking. This is a nice neighborhood, and not your private golf course. "
Yup.......
Dad took the dare, bend the ball around the
transformer.
Dad was cool.
We turned the neighborhood into a course.

We had Mom rules and Dad rules. Mom's #1 rule was no dirty dishes in the sink after the dinner dishes were done. If you used a dish, you had to wash it and put it away. Woe be it to who ever was responsible if she found a dish in the sink when she got up in the morning.

My Dad was a stickler about his automobiles. No one eating or drinking in the car, and no muddy shoes/clothes allowed.

My mum was very young so was pretty cool for Australians in those days. She was and is very old fashioned when it comes to manners though.Only one rule,do as you are told,no exceptions

Only things I can really remember is having a 'set' bed time so I could get up and go to school in the morning and I only had so long to play my video games each day depending on my grades at the time. If my grades were great, I could play as long as I want. If not, there would be a limit.
