This is an idea I have had that I don't think has been tried before, or if it has I have not seen it discussed in the last 20 years.
Elementary atomic particles can be seen by the use of a cloud chamber, that is a sealed container of a vapour just above it's dew point. Usually an alcohol. These particles leave a trail behind them as the fog condenses due to the drop in pressure behind them - like a vapour tail from aircraft. The change in air pressure changes the dew point.
Spirit activity has been noted to cause cold spots in a room, so I suggest that this can be one method of making these cold spots visible to cameras.
I propose that a room under investigation can have it's humidity increased by the use of boiling kettles, and when a set point is reached the room is cooled using a refrigeration unit mounted to a window. This continues with a fan until the dew point is reached at which point the whole room should become visibly foggy. The unit is then shut down and the temperature allowed to rise naturally - but with the air in the room kept still. At this point all the fog should disappear in the room in a uniform fashion BUT if there is a spirit in there causing localised cooling it should become visible. Likewise if any were to enter the room at this point it should become visible immediately and show the boundary of the cooling effect i.e. the shape of the effect.
Looking back at some evidence of sightings they were in early morning, late at night or above water where fog naturally forms due to increased humidity and lowered temperatures. If a spirit is using the heat energy it will cool the immediate area and cause the fog to form.
