Food....just food...

When I wasn't feeling good that was one of my Mama's go-to meals for me. It alternated with Chicken noodle and cheese toast. Back then this and aspirin were the treatment for most ailments.

My Mom used to make me honey and PB sandwiches. Of course, she too made the ubiquitous grilled cheese and Campbell’s tomato soup. But it was pudding cake I had to jump on. My Mom never made that but a small diner in So Cal my family frequented offered pudding cake - my two favs were dark chocolate pudding in chocolate cake and...lemon pudding in lemon cake! And, I don’t mean flavorless stale lemon cake I mean moist and dense lemony pound cake like bliss.

This wasn’t what I thought it was. I figured pudding cake was just cake sliced in half with pudding placed in the middle.
No ones says Lynne that YOUR pudding cake can’t be exactly what you described. The Bakery Police have no jurisdiction in your kitchen! However, if you don’t make for realz pudding cake, there could still be other consequence...
