From baseball to stem cells, Ed Farmer had a story for everyone
Ed Farmer passed away. He was the Chicago White Sox radio man for the past 23 years. A super broadcaster , one hell of a pitcher, and one hell of a man.:)
This is kind of a big loss for me. I figure I listen to 100 games a year for the past 23 years. That's a lot of games and a lot of hours and I sure learned a lot about baseball from him.
All of Chicago radio is doing tributes right now. And not just the sports stations.:D

What is funny is the article mentioned that Ed had been broadcasting White Sox games on the radio for 28 years. I could only remember back 23 years as a darn good guess.:p
Still a good chunk of time.
The article I posted has several more short articles if you scroll down. Great pitcher.

'Ed Farmer was a character': Friends remember longtime Sox broadcaster, former reliever
Ahhh, you don't listen to that guy for all these years and not gain lots of offianity :)
When the game would get boring as all heck Ed would ⁶talk about his basketball exploits at Saint Rita. ( Southside High School). And then Notre Dame football.
And then his sidekick Darren Jackson would talk about golf.:p Hey sometimes it's hard to be a White Sox fan.
When they were talking about golf the TV guy would come into the booth and remind everybody that he won 10th in the British Open.
Hawk Harrelson quit baseball to go on the tour. Dumb move.
