Sooooo....what goes with a hamburger for you? Onion rings?

Very seldom eat burgers, but I prefer potato chips (salt & vinegar, please) to any kind of fries. At a fast food place I will get nothing with a sandwich, except maybe another sandwich. When I eat at a sit down restaurant, I generally ask what are the available substitutes for fries, which is usually either a baked potato or rice. On occasion the substitute has been steamed vegetables.

Fried foods give me indigestion, although Mrs Duke recently invested in an "air fryer" that produces food that doesn't bother me, at least so far.

There are no bad fries or chips as we call them here but I do like the crinkle cut, supposedly the worst for soaking up the oil.I've never eaten a potato dish that wasn't good, wait,I tried lamington flavoured potato chips and they sucked.Smith's must have been on drugs when they brought them out ;vo,and how dare they desecrate the spud :unamused:.

One of things I really like about going to the UK is the amazing selection of flavored potato chips, or "crisps" in Britspeak. Other than pickled onion, never tried one I didn't like. My favorite was either roast beef & ale, or cheddar cheese & bacon.

They've put out some new flavors here recently that my son has tried. I am not a chip fan so haven't tried them, but he is liking a few of the new flavors he's tried.
