I’m new here, first post. We built our house in 2005. The developer who sold us our property—who was probably in his 70’s at the time—told us that many years ago his grandparents home was in this spot when he was a child. But it had been woods for years before he started developing the subdivision.
The first strange thing that happened was a few years after we moved in—I was at work one day and a housekeeper called and said that she had left and would come back to finish on a day when somebody would be home because the rocking chair in the front room kept rocking on its own and she was afraid to be there by herself. I had noticed that every time I went into that room the rocking chair was pulled out away from the corner toward the middle of the room. I had always just pushed it back to the corner and assumed one of my kids had moved it. We were a little creeped out but ended up just getting rid of the rocking chair. Then over the years we’ve seen glimpses of different things, like a tall figure in the entryway. Also my husband and I have both seen a little boy in a blue jacket and a young man in a blue jacket in the yard. What’s creepy about that is that when my son was little I saw the little boy out back several times—just glimpses of him. Then years later my husband was in the garage and thought he saw our 16 year old son walk by, but he wasn’t home. He had another similar experience and said both times the guy was wearing a blue jacket. There have been a lot of other little weird things like that—too many to list— that could maybe be explained away. The one really creepy undeniable thing that happened was one time in the middle of the night I had just returned to bed from the bathroom and felt that someone was looking at me, looked up and could see the outline of a little boy standing in the doorway. At first glance I thought it was our son, who was 9 or 10 at the time, but then I realized the boy was smaller, like a 5 or 6 year old. Our dog who slept on the end of our bed stood up and started barking , and the figure crept in—playfully, like a kid sneaking up on someone—and crouched down at the foot of the bed. I started screaming and woke up my husband and he turned on the light and nobody was there. Our kids were in their beds asleep, and we searched the entire house because I was convinced there was another child in here somewhere. That was the creepiest thing that has ever happened to me. I still sleep with the covers over my head, and I get the feeling pretty often when I’m in bed that someone has walked into the room.
This morning I was here alone with the dogs and our 4 month old puppy went into the breakfast room and started growling and barking—weird because he’s not much of a barker. There was a Christmas ornament on the buffet and I assumed he thought it was a ball and wanted it. I started videoing with my phone (because he’s new and cute and I take a ton of pictures and videos of him). Then I started thinking that he seemed afraid of something and kept backing up like something was scaring him. Then I saw—with my eyes, not through the camera—like a beige fuzzy ball thingy, about the size of a baseball, shoot up from the floor in front of him toward the ceiling, right after he had backed up like something scared him. So I stopped recording and watched the video and sure enough it’s on the video. Several other times too. Hopefully I can post it sometime and get opinions.
Sorry this is so long and all over the place. Thanks for reading, and I would love to get your thoughts!
