My great-uncle once told me a story about his time working as a truck driver in the 70's delivering in London. He told me one day he was standing by his truck having a cigarette, when he noticed approaching him two figures. Naturally he assumed them to be locals of the area. It was only when they got closer that he realised something seemed odd about the duo. He said they were both dressed in outfits and he couldn't see their faces, and said he felt an unnerving feeling come over him as they passed by. My great-uncle was an honest, run of the mill man.

I remember reading a few different "faceless nun" stories, I think they were associated with claims made by faculty and students at Catholic girls' schools or universities.

addendum:

A quick Google search and this popped up immediately. This is one of the stories I remembered, but I think there are others, including at least one outside the US.

Debi might know more about this one, it's kinda in her neck of the woods.

I've heard the story for many years, but have nothing else I can add to it. It's a college town...legends abound.

I spent a lot of time in and around London in the 90s/early 2000s, and I saw many "white van men" making deliveries wearing one piece jumpsuits (or boiler suits as I think they were called in the UK.) Do you think that's what he was talking about?

No, because their faces were concealed. White van men might wear a baseball cap or beanie, but you can still see their faces, especially within close proximity. He was familiar with the typical clothing of the era and in the industry. They gave him the heebie jeebies. I'm not saying it's definitely paranormal, but interesting according to his recount.

Ok, I get it now. They apparently had faces, they were just concealed by whatever they were wearing. I read your original post to mean there was no face to see. Almost sounds like a fencer.

I'm not exactly sure. Maybe he was referring to where the face should have been. It's unknown if they were metaphysical or flesh and blood like us. He was a keen sports fan, and would have known two people wearing fencing outfits. It wasn't that.

I wasn't implying it was necessarily an actual fencer, just talking in terms of the description of having a face present but concealed.
