The Dog Thing

Sad Man, this is my first view of the pictures and I made out an image in the middle one. I hesitated to say anything and then scroll down and saw you circled in red where I was seeing an image.

How tall is that structure with the chimney?

The chimney is around eleven feet. The apparition is about six feet.

The chimney has no conjoined structure. It is simply a lone chimney on the ground that looks surprisingly well kept, even though this place is miles from nearest civilization.

Reading your discussion with Oz, I was struck by the fact that your friends don't want to talk about it. If they don't want to talk about it with you because they found the event so disturbing - that's understandable, and, from what I have read here and elsewhere, common.
I think witnessing something paranormal can have a strange effect on our minds. Much like being a witness to a horrific crime or accident.
Hey it's bedtime in Chicago right now. But I'm going to check back here tomorrow.
Sad, when you experience this creature what did you feel?
What did you think? Initial impression?
Did you smell or hear anything unusual before or after you saw this creature?

That was precisely my experience. I don't know if that really means anything. When I zoomed in on that area, nothing stood out. So maybe a case of pareidolia at that particular distance and angle?

Yes, perhaps it was insensitive of me to pester them.

It felt like an animal. Like a stray dog. Something you'd keep away from. So I'd say caution. It didn't feel like actively attacking me, more so defending it's territory.

I thought it was a boar, first. I had The instinct to get to higher grounds. Like on top of the hill(all the apparitions were in the valleys).

The woodlands have all sorts of smells, so it's hard to decipher what it smells like. But I think during the middle photo, there was the distinct smell of a pillow that's been wet for weeks and has started to rot. It is a common smell you get randomly when walking around in those areas, what with stuff dying.

It's a feature of the mind that seeks order or familiarity out of randomness.
For example, when you look up in the sky and see a cloud and say, "that looks like a rabbit."

Or those Infamous photos of the pyramids on Mars. In my opinion those are just huge rocks and shadows that look like pyramids. ( in my opinion:)) So, "that looks like xyz...") is pareidolia.

Sad Man, the reason I asked about what your senses are picking up, is I saw something very strange and wrote up a little report here. Debi interviewed me regarding it and these are many of the questions she asked. In general, people's reactions are similar.

So, rather than being actually something, it was the shapes playing tricks on our senses?

If so, shapes of leaves prove to be quite the tricksters.

What is magic mushrooms?
Psilocybin or magic mushrooms are naturally occurring and are consumed for their hallucinogenic effects. They belong to a group of drugs known as psychedelics, because of the changes experienced to perception, mood and thought. The key ingredient found in magic mushrooms is psilocybin.
