I'm the one who doesn't typically see ghosts but something just happened...

Here is some context to the photo of the envelope I posted last night. Earlier in this thread, I mentioned that throughout this month I have been trying to deal with a stash of vintage art which I've been ignoring as they sat in boxes for more than a dozen years. I also happen to have rummaged through two boxes I have containing personal papers and mementos from my childhood.

I believed that those two boxes only contained "my stuff". But apparently somehow that envelop containing copies of my paternal Grandfather and Grandmother's death certificates - along with info regarding their burial plots - was inside of one of those boxes. Seems that a few weeks back, when I left a small pile of unwanted documents from those two boxes (which I wanted to shred rather than just toss out) on the floor of my office, this envelop was unknowingly in that stack too. That is until mid-day yesterday when I carelessly kicked the stack of trash and this envelope popped out.

I wonder if the "activities" I've experienced since late last week could be related to the content of that envelop?

Since last night, I have seen what appeared to be the shadow of a person on my back porch. When I turned to look, it seemed to withdraw behind a broad pillar. I opened the door and there was no one there. And, for a second time this morning, I've also seen a small shadow close to the ground like down on all four. So I'm thinking that my doggo who died three years ago is visiting too.
I've noticed that paranormal activity will often turn on and off without notice. Now, in this case, the envelope may have been a notice of sorts, Wands.

So the death certificates somehow got in the box of momentous ?
Yes Lynne, that is the only reasonable procedural explanation.

I’m pretty certain that envelope was not accidentally placed inside any of the boxes containing the vintage prints. The timing for how those prints were packed when I moved in 2003 didn’t reasonable support any random paperwork being packed up at the same time.

And as I stated, I was rummaging through those other two boxes of personal documents at nearly the same time.

Thank you Debi for the point - I’ll let the PNF know how this instance plays out. No posts to this thread will therefore mean no activity to report.

I’ve placed the envelope onto the top of my dresser so as not to disturb it further yet keep it nearby to prompt me to think of my grandparents more often. In a couple of weeks I’ll find a more stable place to store it for the long term. Who knows, hunting for a more appropriate box to store the envelope in might in turn uncover yet another exciting fact or artifact.

By the way....
the envelope may have been a notice of sorts
. Your choice of wording didn’t escape my “notice” either.

I keep trying to think of why it would turn up there. What are they trying to tell you? This one is a hard nut to crack.

I have a unique occurrence from last night that I want to post but, just like last night, I’m busy through probably 3PM today. I’m heading to a celebration of life for a coworker.

I’m delaying posting too while I look for the best - and fewest words - to describe what I saw and to look for some explanations. What I want to describe is a flash of light unlike anything I’ve seen before. I promise not to delay too much longer.

Good morning all.

I’ve got a few minutes so I’m going to start...I apologize if I get interrupted as I’ll come back tonight and finish up.

This occurred last night at shortly after 5 PM Eastern. I was upstairs in my office which is both my office and my dressing area. The same closest which stores a bunch of personal “stuff” - like boxes of art, personal papers, and old LP records - is also where I keep my clothes hung. And more important to this event, my dresser is tucked in the corner of this room too.

So I was in my office doing something quick and menial - I literally don’t recall what it was - and saw a flash of light while I faced my dresser.

[Editing to pick up where I left off when interrupted during posting six hours ago]

Let me say first before I attempt to explain this away that this was unlike any other light I can remember seeing before. This light was very white; I don’t mean that it was especially “bright”, I mean “clean and crystal clear”. It appeared as something between a flash (short in duration - maybe 1 second) and a sweep (it appeared to move from left to right in front of me.). This light bathed everything which was in front of me including the top of the dresser, some loose articles on the dresser, along with a desk lamp on the dresser, and the wall immediate behind the top of the dresser which also includes a corner where two walls meet.

I have no idea what the source of this light was as it could not have come from behind me...I didn’t cast a shadow on the dresser nor the wall. The flash/sweep of light was uninterrupted and illuminated almost everything at once with just the very slightest delay of bathing the corner and then the second wall to my right.

So here are some of the sources which it could not reasonable have come from:
A. Window immediately behind me as I’m on the second story and the window faces the wall of my neighbor’s home. To send added or secondary light into that window would require someone stand on my neighbor’s roof and direct/reflect it into the window or a flying light source to park between our two houses.
B. Window in the stairwell because that window is between stories, faces my other neighbor’s house, and faces away from the street. More importantly, the way in which light enters that window, as it enters my office, it essentially bathes the walls on the opposite side of the room.
C. The wall, that light hits in point B above, is covered with framed art. But I’ve already tested with a flashlight to confirm that regardless of angle, any reflected light does not reflect onto the walls near to the dresser. Confirmed same is true relevant to light reflective go off of my laptop screen and external monitor.
D. None of the bulbs in the three lamps in my office have blown out. That includes the most likely culprit - the lamp atop my dresser.
E. Not likely to be a visual impairment- I don’t think, I hope not. The light really appeared to illuminate the small area in front of me. For example, the two walls and the corner where they meet were not equally lit - there was an unequal amount of light in those three points.
F. I confirmed there was nothing on my glasses nor was anything ajar about my lenses and frame.

I can’t explain where this bright light came from but it seemed to be originating in the two feet between me and the two walls I was facing.

Hey there Witch, this is some pretty interesting stuff. I once read an account of a woman who suddenly one day began to have this constant ringing in her ears. She apparently never had the problem before and doctors could figure it out either. In the meantime with her trying to figure things out, there began some events that took place that started her to feel fearful and very uneasy. She would see flashes of a dark shadow always out of direct view, but always in her peripheral.

She began to notice a pattern between the shadow and the ringing of the ears. I can't remember exactly how it happened but turns out that the ringing was supposedly her guardian angel trying to warn her about the shadow thing. If this is true then it kinda means that the guardian angel, when communicating is doing so at such a higher frequency that it sounds like buzzing or ringing in the ears. Eventually, like most encounters, she began to put pieces of the puzzle together and figure out how to confront and deal with the shadow thing.

Not exactly the same thing but I hope to offer you another point of view.

Thanks for sharing Silver and welcome to the PNF. That’s an interesting corollary for certain.

There are a few components of the paranormal which I’ve experienced repeatedly - even frequently. But there is a much larger subset which I’m not familiar with. The posts on the PNF have opened me up to some of that content.

As I’ve shared in this thread, I’ve just had a couple of unfamiliar occurrences in the past 10 days. So I’m very appreciative of any inputs and even the most tangential stuff might end up “ringing a bell” (pun on the story you posted obviously). I am open to examining these occurrences from many angles with several tactics since it appears foreign to me.

Welcome again.

Wands, I want you to be aware of one physical possibility. Not saying it is, but your just described a warning sign for a retinal tear. The reason I know this is my teen nephew has one and this is one of the warning signs we watch for in case it tries to get bigger. He sees a flash, just as you described. It may not be anything like this, but I need to at least throw this out there for you.
