Just had a very unusual experience.Just went outside about 10pm here in Oz.It's a full moon and deathly quiet tonight.A large shadow of a flying creature caught my attention and put a fear of dread in me,I heard the wings flapping.I thought to myself ,what the ---- was that and a very clear voice said "say en ay".I've just come in to look this up and found Saena a bird with something to do with the Phoenix in mythology. It was the weirdest experience, even for me,when I saw this is a mythical birds name it has become even stranger. If anyone knows of this I would be grateful.Whoa!

Have you considered it might have been Skippy the Bush Kangaroo with a large set of wings he designed and fashioned himself? I remember a RAAF exchange officer I worked with years ago saying. "Mate, that kangaroo was one clever bugger."

Wow that is an amazing experience. Can you give anymore detail about what it looked like?
The only thing I saw was a large shadow of a bird on the ground.I would of thought an owl except for the voice in my ear.

I've seen an episode where Skippy flew a helicopter, but the farmers atm here are shooting every roo on their farms with the drought,so Skippy is ruled out.

Wow I had no idea you all were having this situation. Is it just your area or the whole country ?
