Wondering if your overwhelming love for someone or something slow down or prevent their spirit crossing over after death?Does it leave the departed in limbo here?I feel it's ok to talk to them but is this crossing the line also.

Good question Oz. It would reason that a spirits concern over leaving a grieving loved one would hold them here if it went on too long. However I think the ones that have moved on to God are allowed to visit us. Weather it’s good to talk to them probably depends on the circumstances like in life. What you say and to whom makes a difference. Of course I’m just speculating here. Who knows what ghosts really are.

Funny you say this. There are schools of thought that say our thoughts and feelings towards someone of family members will contribute to holding a person's soul tied to the earth plane.

Oz, there is nothing wrong with loving anyone on either side of the veil. The line comes when we can't let them move on as they should..when we try to hold them here for our sake. IMO, when the spirit of someone comes to visit us it's normally with a message or to reassure us they are OK. Notice that these visits are for us, not them. Souls will always be bound together by love but should not bind the soul/spirit to this side of the veil.

Story time: My parents were very, very close. When my dad passed, my mom was torn apart over it and my dad did come by to give her a message. After that, my mom kept begging for him to come back and talk with her again, which he did not do. (Dad was a very advanced kinda soul, imo.) However, when my mom was dying, my sister and I were sleeping at the house while she was in the hospital. I was in mom's bed and my sister was in dad's old bed in another room. (He had medical problems that kept him up a lot so he slept separately towards the end of his life.) That night, I clearly heard in my right ear my father's voice say, "I'm here. I've come to get her. We're going fishing." My parents loved fishing. To back this up, my sister heard the same exact thing in the other room. As a non-believer in this kind of thing, she was pretty freaked out by it.

My point is, I believe the spirit/soul can visit us when we need them. And I also believe we need to make sure we don't get real needy and hold them here for our own comfort.

Saying your dad came back to get your mum reminds me about my grandma.I believe she was a very new soul, she had no belief in the paranormal and used to tease me about it.That was until a few weeks before she died my departed grandad visited her ,The love in her eyes telling me,I won't forget.
