Cloning the Woolly Mammoth?

Could Reviving Woolly-Mammoth Genes Fight the Effects of Global Warming?

Ok now this article says for them to knock down the trees to let the cold drop????? OMG for real?
Ok reading this got my mind going points that are bad.

1 knock down all the trees kill all the trees, trees take in carbon monoxide and give us oxygen back.

2 kill all trees and no food for other animals like giraffes.

3. No trees no paper no furniture nada.

4. Volcanoes give out me carbon monoxide then humans.

I am sorry but IMO they are simply crazy!
Mom, the bottom line is these kind of whacky scientist types always come up with nonsense and call it a theory. What happens when science tampers with nature in this way? Nothing good can come from this.

I've heard this is being funded by mega rich, big game trophy hunters,so that is a reason although a sick one.I don't know how trophy hunters brains work and I don't want to.

Why doesn't that surprise me.

I don't know about this cloning thing. I have a deal about Emanation/Spark/Spirit and or the lack of, in these things. I am very uncomfortable with things out of the Natural Order of Creation. I belief that all Living Beings are Spirit in Body and when that Being's physical manifestation ceases to exist the Spirit is set free/untethered and then does whatever Spirit does. So, you can clone the body but you can't invest it with Spirit. Kind of Pet Sematary to me.

Seem's like it would be a better investment of time and money to make an actual attempt at being better care-giver's over those who are with us now.

Nicely put.I hunt animals myself but only introduced animals that are wrecking our environment.I look on a hunting site that has a big game section,is where I heard about this, whether true or not I don't know. All the other hunters despise this type of ego hunting by wealthy trophy takers.

I wonder if they made this statement as its little trunk was taking a peanut out of their hand....lol...

sure, why not, its just an elephant, kinda..... they went extinct from hunting and possibly climate change, using something like this to perfect cloning could help with other endangered species or species that went extinct solely because of man..... could right some wrongs if used wisely.... but therein lies the catch, huh?
I agree Paul. I have been following this a bit. I find it fascinating and hopeful that we can regain some of our more recent losses. We are close to loosing the African elephant now!
