Sage seems to be a popular thing around this forum for getting rid of unwanted spirits, so I thought I'd share this silly story.
I used to have a set of framed pictures of herbs of the kind that you hang in the kitchen. They've been moved around a lot over the years. Some time ago, I was having a lot of problems with health, nightmares and bad luck and wondered if I had some unhelpful presence here. This forum, of course!, suggested sage. Anyway, I wasn't sure if burning sage was a great option for me, but at that point I found the framed picture of some sage which had gone missing years ago, inexplicably lodged down the back of a cabinet nowhere near anywhere I remembered having it.
Well, symbolic magic, right? I put the sage picture in a prominent place along with a mental warning.
It fell down and so did another picture of another herb (not sage) breaking the frame.
Still, the atmosphere has much improved around here and things have been better all around. Just so long as the sage picture stays face down!
What is it with spirits and sage anyway?

Best I've been for a while! Thanks. I hope you are too.
"No one who has smelled the distinct acrid tang of burning sage would say that it could only be for ‘aesthetic’ olfactory purposes."
Okay. Now I really really want to smell it! Just not at home. :)
"The Latin for sage, ‘Salvia,’ stems from the word ‘to heal.’ The other qualities of sage when burned, such as giving wisdom, clarity and increasing spiritual awareness, are also indicated in the name. It’s no accident that we refer to wise people as sagely."
This also sounds quite good. Imagine the power of eating it!

So you're saying the sage picture being anything but face down becomes a problem?

Wouldn't be the first time hearing about a haunted picture
I think the picture is fine, but the local inhabitant who isn't me dislikes it. Still, a haunted sage picture would be a twist! What do you do if your sage is haunted?

I have been good benway, thank you
Some ppl can't stand the smell of sage, from my understanding nor can negative energy.
Now for sage that is haunted that would be one heck of a twist!!!!!!!
I would suggest burn it outside since fire cleanses everything.
:)

Benway, your posts always make me smile! lol

Here's a bit about what else we know that science now shows about sage..

Smudging proven medicinal

May I suggest the use of Palo Santo wood as a wise Sage replacement for you? You appear to be having a few issues with the herb!
