Could humans face mass extinction?

No surprise here. Very scary. Life exists on a razor edge always.

Western bias. There are still a fair number of people who live pre- or mid- industrial age that could take the failure of technology just fine. For that matter, I have kin up in Appalachia who would be annoyed but could survive as well.

And finally, everything old is new again. I present to you, a series on the Bronze Age Collapse

IMO alot of ppl are to dependent on tech. Now Ronin is right there are still ppl who don't use tech BUT alot do.
I mean my gosh death by selfies now!
Ppl getting attacked by animals at the zoo because they "needed" that selfies. IMO I would like alot to go back to how it use to be. Kids and adults don't know how to communicate face to face. I swear if we ever have a huge sun burst that took out all cell towers there will be madness! Again IMO.

I'm with you on this one. Even within the same HOUSE my son will text me from his bedroom sometimes! lol And my nephew only communicates by text these days. I have to "demand" an appearance once in awhile to check them both.

Climate change is doing it right now if it's not tackled within a few years, there are several points of no return from which there will be no reversing.

I always think of planet earth as a giant school, where we keep repeating the same lessons; whether we learn from them is hard to determine! We still have wars, starving people, hate, and crime. I wonder if we are evolving at all!

I pretty much live off the grid, apart from the internet.I think humans will be one of the shorter lived species on the planet which is bad for us but great for Earth's welfare.Overpopulation is the only issue that we can address, and the only thing that needs addressing but shh don't mention it,it might upset the human rights brigade.

We are moving in the right direction, for the most part I think. But evolution/learning is a slow process, the phrase " something is only as strong as the weakest link" applies to mankind also. We are only as strong as the weakest among us, and sometimes to learn we must be tested, and sometimes those tests come in the harshests of ways....teaching kindness, acceptance, love, piece, spirituality, etc... Is one thing we can do to do our part.
