OK, since I've run everyone off, I'm headed to the kitchen...lol BRB

What was your first flight like, Tony? And what kind of plane?

Oh my that was amazing. It was my second visit to the flying school at Glasgow airport, the week before the weather was too bad to fly. This time the weather was marginal and the CFI was a bit worried I'd not like the flight because of potential turbulence (I'd never flown on anything before). I suppose he saw the disappointment on my face and said let's give it a go but we might need to cut it short.

So I got to pull the Cessna 150 out of the hanger and he showed me how to do the walkaround doing the pre-flight checks and then climb into the cockpit. I handled the checklist and got everything ready and started the engine. When taxiing you steer using the rudder pedals and as we're heading out to the runway I'm passing airliners waiting to head out too and a private jet waiting for me to pass. The pilots give me a wave as I passed and I was so thrilled.

We get on the runway and the CFI says follow me through so hand on the yoke and feet on the rudders off we go. Airborne, first time ever in the air we get to 1000ft and CFI says you have control, I'm flying the plane. We head north to Loch Lomond just under the overcast cloud and lemons wouldn't have taken the smile off my face, it's a bit bouncy but I'm in my element, the view is amazing and I'm in control.

The weather is getting shitty so we head back in the direction of the airport and out of the grey gloom I see the runway lights lit up to full way in the distance, followed through on the approach and landing, taxi to the clubhouse park and secure. First entry in my logbook. I was fifteen.

15????? OMG......that is soo young to do that! Most kids at 15 can't remember where they put their shoes!
