Country, Town or Big City livin'?

Having lived in both settings, I prefer a more country like setting. Also, having had nightmarish experiences in a small town, I would definitely be more cautious about living in one again. I spent part of my teens in a beach town, and absolutely loved it! I could work on the boardwalk in the summers, and the ocean was wild and beautiful in the winter.
Right on about the ocean in winter. My brother had a place on Lake Michigan and I spent a lot of time there. What I found interesting was the lake in winter was pretty neat. The way the waves get frozen up with lots of sand and foam. And if you're careful you can walk out on it and it's like being on the surface of the Moon.
About the only thing we have close to a boardwalk is Navy Pier in Chicago. But I am not a multi-millionaire so I can't afford to frequent the place.:(
