First Love

I'm not talking about romantic love but at what age did you discover something that would become a life long interest and maybe even a career?

Before I started school I was fascinated by the night sky, those wee bright dots up there. Before long I learned it was call astronomy and it became a passion. My aunt got me a telescope for Christmas when I was eleven, no table top wee thing it was taller than me with all the kit to inspire a pro (equatorial mount). Viewing the planets and the Moon was breathtaking.

I studied astronomy at university but never worked in that field. I don't even have a telescope anymore but still spend time just watching the night sky, go somewhere that has no light pollution it will amaze you.

Anyways, what did it for you what was your first love?

Like you I was also fascinated by the small dots up in the sky. Still fascinated today but different. Now I question everything in life. Are we alone or are we not alone? No answer would satisfy me enough so i keep digging to find meaning in life even if there is none. What would be more scary, being alone in the universe or being not alone?!

As it becomes clear that almost every star out there has a collection of planets it becomes statistically more certain that some of these exo-planets will harbour life. I personally don't believe we are alone.

Yes. Up to 400 billion stars in the milky way and up to 2 trillion galaxies. So there are more stars then all the grains of sand on this planet. We are a young species and many other species out there have a lead of millions if not billions of years.

Horses. Not sure when. But very young. Training & working with horses. I’d set up jump courses in my backyard as a kid having the dog work over height & spread variables as a horse-substitute..lol. I was absolutely nuts over horses. I think Lynne gets me on this one. ; )
Yep they have been and still my first love. They have been a life long obsession. My life has been built around this love of horses. Mrs C do you still have them ?

Dogs, and hunting with them is my passion. So much so I've had to live in some sketchy places so I could have them.Even now I live in an isolated area partly due to my dogs, but mostly because I'm an empath and its a lot easier than dealing with society if it was close by.
We have to talk. I have an issue with my Pom. She barks constantly whenever anyone gets up to move. It is terribly annoying. Any advice?

Could be she's keeping everyone rounded up and in place or maybe thinks she's going for a walk, would be my best guesses.Dogs can be weirdo's at times and never cease to make liars out of their owners,or mine do.

Right she wants us all tog. Perhaps a herding instinct. It is so annoying.

Yeah, we get dogs as pets and companions to fit in with us but you end up trying to fit in with the dogs. The jack russells are the hardest to live with among the dogs I've got.The whippets are very laid back and quiet,so get to live indoors.

They are from the Spitz breed...and Poms are natural watchdogs because of it. My Harley is the same way. A butterfly passes the window and I know about it in summer. Snowflakes? Sure! I know about them.
