In the controversial "haunted house" event i brought up in another thread....I mentioned I heard 3 knocks... I heard these 3 knocks loud and clear that woke me up from a sleep, it came from the back of a dresser, which i still have.....I was alone in the house, and it was like ...3am I also heard it once in the kitchen with my friend, while I was trying to explain to them that i was experiencing something in that house, which was kind of messed up because I heard it loud and clear, and they didn't hear anything! And they were right there! it wasn't my imagination, i use my ears professionally, so I know the difference.

I've read a bunch of things on the net, how it was an omen to something that was about to happen.....and other translations ....

I know what I felt like it was asking me permission....but of course I don't know ...it's just how i felt....but I did find something interesting in watching the Buzz feed documentary, that a lady who practiced vodoo explained that it was a sign of respect to the spirits to knock 3 times to let them know you were there.

That struck a chord with me and made me wonder if whatever it was ( demons ) were showing me respect by knocking ? it was strange, I had really crazy things happening in that place, including things with real life consequences, but I didn't feel threatened by the supernatural, if anything I think the real life events had me so uneasy that those feelings may have attracted the supernatural.... Even with the tremors, even with waking up bruised I didn't feel threatened or scared....it felt like they were being playful, albeit in a cruel roughhouse way. I was even inclined to tell them good bye when i moved lol.

Has anyone else experienced the 3 knocks ? what did it mean to you if you did ?

Hello Mr. E,

My family (one and two generations back) had experience with “three knocks”. There are other details around this occurrence which, if I were to describe them, would just drag out the story but not add anything materially significant. My intent with this post is to give you the key facts with brevity. This happened before I was born and told to me by my Mother.

80 years ago, I had four male family members fighting in WWII - both of my grandfathers, one uncle, and my own Father. My Mom and my aunt were both living with my Irish maternal grandmother (their mother). One night there was a set of three knocks on the front door; they answered the door but no one was there. All three of the women were together in the living room and all three heard the same knocks. The same thing happened a second time that night. My superstitious Irish grandmother told her daughters that the knocking was a known omen indicating bad news was coming and that she perceived that something was going to happen to two of their husbands - two knocking omens, one for each of two of their fighting spouses. That same week, they received notice that both my maternal grandfather and my Dad were officially missing in action (MIA). The story ends well though, my grandfather turned up in a military hospital; and, he searched out and found my Dad in the same hospital.

So Mr. E, though three knocks might have multiple meaning, in some traditions it can represent a sign of coming bad news.

That time I was haunted in Paris it was three knocks on the door. Scratches. Under the bed at my butt. Knock knock. That 3 times. I read about that with the omen. That spooked me a lot. I got baptized so I should be safe. I do feel safer now protected.

thank you for sharing! it means a lot to me.

You are sincerely welcome Mr E. Please continue to be open and share with us on the PNF what you experience. We all have the chance to learn new info and meaning - as well as to reinforce what we already seem to know - when others share.

More scary stuff at night interrupting sleep & causing you to question your sanity with someone not believing you? That must be hard for you to deal with.

You mention voodoo. Haven’t heard that art mentioned in awhile. You know someone who practices?

If you are comfortable, what real life stuff is plaguing you at the same time? That would be no rest at daytime & no rest at night. That could make a person sick or if already sick, even sicker

Take care of yourself.

oh boy! you are asking the right questions lol.

I don't practice voodon - but I was sort of indoctrinated to a form of it as a child. Not of my choosing, not complaining either, as a child i found it fun, good music, good food, interesting shows and it's part of my culture.. yadda yadda.

as for the 2nd question - well....without going into much detail, it's why i research so much.

just for clarity, i can't call myself a christian, because I don't attend church and study the paranormal, by technical definition that makes me somewhat of an occultist.....but I don't practice the occult, I only study it. I follow Christ, not by tradition, but by research, but I can also say, I follow bruce lee, that doesn't make it a religion. My concept is simple, it's based on Sun Tzu's philosophy, know thyself and know thy enemy, 1000 battles, 1000 wins.

You would have to be crazy to remain sane after things I've endured / experienced. What society calls sane is not my cup of tea. A sane person to me is just someone trying to normalize their preferred form of crazy lol. My sense of humor protects me, and my honesty puts me in hot water. o_O

I study religion to hold my ground in debate vs the religious, I study science to hold my ground in debate vs scientists, I study the paranormal, well...to stand my ground vs that too.

Mr E,

I've heard these types of nonphysical knocks too many years ago. They usually came in 3 sets of 3 knocks. In my case it was not positive whatsoever but demonic.

The other thing you mentioned that's fairly common with negative nonphysical things like this is that they often happen at or around 3:00 AM. That in itself is usually a clue that what's trying to get your attention typically isn't "positive" so just be aware and wise.

I agree. Some consider that when things come in threes it is a mockery of the trinity. These things always seem to be negative. If activity ramps up besides the knocks you may have to take protective action.
