As I've shared in other posts here on the PNF, I've had premonitions for most of my life - they were especially prevalent when I was in my 20s, 30s, and 40s.

I recently found a few notes in a journal which had been damaged. In fact, the two premonitions I'm about to share were two of the only three paranormal journal entries that I was able to recover.

I'm sharing these two occurrences to demonstrate that though they were literally and figurative "earth shaking" (pun), my conscious mind still processed the related precognitive inputs in a matter-of-fact and mundane fashion.

I was living in Southern California during the 1990s.

First one was on the night of 6/27/92. As I was getting ready for bed, I had the random thought that, "Well after tomorrow, it will be many months before I'll be able to buy an earthquake insurance policy on my condo." I was awaken by the 7.3 magnitude Landers' earthquake at 5AM the next morning - on the 28th.

The second one is slightly more elaborate. On the night of 1/16/94, while I was sitting on the foot of my mattress getting ready for bed, I had taken off one of my socks and dropped it on the floor (male living alone, so don't judge the laundry habits). I then hooked my fingers under the stretchy part of the second sock and pulled it half way down my foot but stopped when the thought hit me that, "I should not remove my socks; I might need them if there is broken glass or broken mirrors." So I pulled that second sock back up my foot, I put back on the first sock, and then I went to bed. The next morning I was awaken at 4:30AM by the magnitude 6.7 Northridge earthquake. I jumped out of bed to stand inside the door frame - that's the safety technique I was taught as a child. This was the doorway between my bedroom and the bathroom; and, at that moment I was facing into the bathroom. As the quake was still shaking, I was looking forward into the large mirror over the sink and I could see it slightly waving and flexing as the wall behind it vibrated. Though the mirror didn't break, it prompted me to recall the thought I had hours earlier which explained why I was standing in the doorway wearing a pair of socks.

Oh, there was a third earthquake in the early 90s which I believe I had foreseen like the two examples above. However, I couldn't locate the related journal entry and therefore I don't have the same kind of date details to share.

I know that third event was even less impressive than these other two because I recall that when it awoke me in the morning, I simply said something like, "Oh, an earthquake" and immediately rolled over and fell back asleep.

And this is why we listen to that little voice within! Great stories, Wands. The fact that you were able to document them is good. That's why I try to document things in my dream journal or even on site here. There's no second guessing yourself that way. :)

I have done that with 9 11 happening and I felt Harvey was coming to Houston and told my hubby I am ready to leave because I feel the big one is coming. And we left 3 months before it happened. A new friend here said I called it. lol It was wild seeing pics of Houston with all that rain and flood from up here and not being there. But I am good with hurricanes now. I felt one was coming for Florida this year too. But I had bad feelings of the Space Challenger before but wasn't sure what world disaster was going to happen. But turned out it was that event. Reading what you had makes me feel better others have this happen to them to. I'm so glad I came here. It's been educational for me and makes me feel I'm not so rare after all. I just keep them mentally in my head but I should document them too. Thanks for that idea. I should have already done so. Mine is gut feelings ahead of time. Feelings of things. But I liked reading what yours were. That is neat talent.

Thanks Boo for the comment. Let me give you a warning about journals. If your journal is on paper, and it is important to you, then make a photo copy of the most recent pages every couple of weeks. If your journal is electronic, then make a digital backup of it every couple of weeks.

On separate occasions I have lost BOTH my paper journal and then later my electronic journal. In which case I have no problem saying, "boo hoo" :(

Probably worth pointing out too that most (but not all) of my premonitions are interpreted in a unique form of future and past tense combined...as if I am accepting now that the future event has already happened.

As in...

"Well after tomorrow, it will be many months before I'll be able to buy an earthquake insurance policy on my condo."

The first part of that sentence is in future tense, but when you read the entire sentence in context, it is actually acknowledging that something seems to have already occurred.

That's right,
We tend to think that premonitions are seeing the future, but we are probably only seeing the here and now.
Premonition is more likely to be our psyche seeing the build-up to an event, not the actual event. This is why premonitions are very often, only vague, formless situations, waiting to take form.
Sometimes we only recognise a visual phenomenon, to have been a premonition, after the actual event materialises.

285% match to my experiences Cass. Thank you for sharing those points.

As an Anglo Male, I tend to want to wrap psychic events inside of scientific terms. I know, silly me. But one of the belief systems I have about how premonitions might work - assuming we’re not just glimpsing clips from the future - is that our minds can take the currently known info and instantly and accurately extrapolate how the now will evolve into the future like by following the quantum level breadcrumbs. That detailed extrapolation reveals itself to us as a premonition.

My deal was three things bothered my gut that happened over a few weeks time. And then it made sense it was 9 11. I just wasn't good enough to predict it to tell anyone important. Then they don't believe you. But it was disturbing. And when the Gulf War started that night, I was up with a cold and in the bathroom, our door was cracked and on the door I saw a shadow outline of Suddam. It spooked heck out of me. Then we had the war starting at that time. I was a bit creeped out that night. I might do one thread of those kind of instances. Guess I've had it odd all through my life. Might be a medium and not realize it. It's good to help me talk here about it. Sort of helping my spiritual soul. Thanks to all here letting me talk about it too. And I am intrigued by the experiences here. It's amazing.

Your lucky to have a partner who believed you to that degree,I'd love to have that bond with someone. The only person I had was my young brother who was on the same level as me.He unfortunately died young 20 years ago.
