Welcome!

This thread will be for organizations that involve the Second Amendment, gun rights, etc. I have also included training, because a lot of the organizations involve training of some type whether it be hands-on, videos, live seminars, magazines, etc.

Another topic we should cover is insurance. Now there is the obvious kind, coverage for your firearms if they are stolen. Then there is another kind - insurance if you are involved in a shooting. In either case, your homeowners insurance is likely not going to cover these events.

If you are involved in a self-defense shooting whether justified or not, you are likely going to be in for a legal battle. Even the most clear-cut case of self-defense may end up with you in handcuffs, going to jail until the situation is resolved. If you do, will you have bail money? Do you have an attorney? How will you know what to say and NOT to say to the police? All of these are covered under firearm policies. If you plan to carry, you should seriously be thinking about having insurance.

This is all my opinion, and I leave it to forum members to come to their own conclusions. I will also list if I have any affiliation with the groups mentioned below. I am listing these organizations just so people can see some of the many ways in which they can help support gun rights and the Second Amendment.

NRA | Home

The National Rifle Association of America (NRA) is an American nonprofit organization that advocates for gun rights.[5][6][7] Founded in 1871, the group has informed its members about firearm-related legislation since 1934, and it has directly lobbied for and against firearms legislation since 1975.[8]

Founded to advance rifle marksmanship, the modern NRA continues to teach firearm safety and competency. The organization also publishes several magazines and sponsors competitive marksmanship events.[8] According to the NRA, it has 6 million members as of May 2018.[3]

Love 'em or hate 'em, the NRA still helps fight for Second Amendment rights and against stricter gun laws that are unconstitutional.

The NRA offers self-defense insurance for gun owners.

Second Amendment Foundation

The Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) is dedicated to promoting a better understanding about our Constitutional heritage to privately own and possess firearms.

To that end, we carry on many educational and legal action programs designed to better inform the public about the gun control debate.

I am a Life Member of the 2nd Amendment Foundation.

"The only no-compromise gun lobby in Washington" - Ron Paul

Gun Owners of America (GOA) is a gun rights organization in the United States with over 1.5 million members.[3] It makes efforts to differentiate itself from the larger National Rifle Association (NRA) and has publicly criticized the NRA on multiple occasions for what they consider to be compromising on gun rights issues and thereby selling out the gun rights movement.

The GOA has often been in opposition to the NRA in its endorsements and ratings of politicians and candidates. For instance, the GOA was outspoken in its opposition to John McCain's 2008 presidential bid, describing his gun-rights voting record as "abysmal, wretched, and pathetic"[4] and giving him an F- grade on Second Amendment issues since 2004, while the NRA (through its PAC, the NRA-PVF) gave him a C+.[5] The GOA took issue with the NRA over the 2007 NICS Improvement Act.[citation needed]

The GOA has been described by Congressman Ron Paul as "The only no-compromise gun lobby in Washington." This quote from Paul has long been displayed prominently on the home page of the Gun Owners of America website, and Paul was the only 2008 presidential candidate to receive an A+ grade from Gun Owners of America.[6]

I like to cover all my bases, so I belong to several pro-gun organizations. ;)

I am a Lifetime Member of the Gun Owners of America.
I am a Patriot Member of the Gun Owners of America.

Campaign for Liberty - Reclaim the Republic. Restore the Constitution.

The Campaign for Liberty (C4L) is a political organization founded by twelve-term United States Congressman Ron Paul. Campaign for Liberty focuses on educating elected officials and the general public about constitutional issues, and currently provides a membership program. Its legal status is that of a 501(c)(4) nonprofit.

The Campaign for Liberty was announced on June 12, 2008 as a way of continuing the grassroots support involved in Ron Paul's 2008 presidential run, and corresponded with the suspension of that campaign.[citation needed] Paul formally announced during the Texas Republican Convention that he had created this new organization known as the "Campaign for Liberty".

I am a Patriot Club Member in the Campaign for Liberty.

The Heritage Foundation

The Heritage Foundation (abbreviated to Heritage)[1][2] is an American conservative public policy think tank based in Washington, D.C. The foundation took a leading role in the conservative movement during the presidency of Ronald Reagan, whose policies were taken from Heritage's policy study Mandate for Leadership.[4] Heritage has since continued to have a significant influence in U.S. public policy making, and is considered to be one of the most influential conservative research organizations in the United States. After the 2016 election of Donald Trump as U.S. President, Heritage board member Rebekah Mercer played a major role in shaping his transition team.[5]

I am a Leaders Club Member of the Heritage Foundation.

The National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR) is a conservative gun rights advocacy group in the United States.[4][5]They maintain an affiliated PAC and a non-profit legal foundation. Officially incorporated in Virginia on March 29, 2000,[1]NAGR was founded by Dudley Brown as a national companion organization to Rocky Mountain Gun Owners.[6][7] NAGR is a rival of the National Rifle Association and considers itself the "conservative alternative" to the NRA. The group spends most of its energy attacking lawmakers deemed too soft on Second Amendment issues via direct mail, robocalls and low-cost television ads.[8] The group has gained notoriety for its aggressive lobbying tactics and attack ads.[9]

I am a Frontline Defenders Member in the National Association for Gun Rights.
