Flashlights

For some reason, guys really like flashlights. I think it is the modern day form of fire and it is important to carry! What type of light(s) do you carry and do you feel lost without one?

I started carrying Maglites back in the 1980's, so I still have an affinity for them today. That's not to say I don't have any of the more modern looking lights too, with their ever-waging war on size and lumens. It is amazing that you can carry thousands of lumens in such a tiny size these days. Now you can have a key-chain light that will more than suffice for most any daily needs.

My main EDC light is the NiteCore MH12 which packs a lot of light in a small footprint. You can get smaller lights, but this uses standard batteries and is rechargeable as well as being bright - everything I wanted in an EDC light.

When I used to work night shifts at timmies, I carried this. It was a fantastic little torch that you can get for $3 plus shipping if not cheaper. Runs on either AAs or 14500’s. I loved it until one time I guess the battery cap wasn’t tight and fell off without me noticing. Don’t know if that was the thread’s fault or I didn’t tighten it properly after popping in a new AA.

I typically use the word “mundane” to refer to non-paranormal/non-mystical stuffs. But I have to admit that Sea’s several EDC threads are pretty interesting examples of very mundane things. So I think I’ll start the next mundane thread but I’ll let the rest of you choose. Either...:

“Which is your favorite finger or toe?

OR

“How many belt loops are on your favorite pair of dress slacks?”

I pick up flashlights like knives... I swear they just call out to me when I walk past them, lol.....
picked up this one last year at home depot and was really surprised by it....better than most of my mag lights and extremely bright. kinda on the big side but well worth the 30.00 price, will get some of the smaller sizes to see if theyre as good. and how they compare to others.

Try talking to younger folks about the need for flashlights. Dollars to donuts the bulk of them will tell you they don't need them because they have a flashlight app on their phone.
