Due to the popularity of cell phones, a lot of people do not even wear a watch anymore. If they do, they are almost always a quartz watch with multiple functions and possibly even atomic accuracy! Far fewer people are still wearing mechanical watches - watches that do not require a battery and are either wound mechanically, or automatically by the wearer's everyday movements. Watches also fall into the category of "tool" watch or "jewel" watch - one that is made for work, one that is more for dress occasions. How about you - do you still wear a watch? What kind(s)?

A true "tool" watch
I've had this watch for about five years, and it still looks like the day I bought it - it's built like a tank!

This watch was my retirement gift to myself. For years, I needed/wore relatively inexpensive watches that had multiple alarms and kept dual time. They were usually Casio or Timex.

Regardless of the watch, I've used these simple watchband calendars for over thirty years. I attach the current and next month, can't imagine not having them after all these years.

Nice Eco-Drive watch. Wow, I used to use those little watchband calendars too! I didn't even know they still made them! Great idea to use the current month and next month for planning dates. I found them here!

I also used to have the calculator/databank watches too. I thought those were so cool, and they still make them!

Now you can get automatic watches online for $40! Granted they’re probably crap, but hey, not many people have automatics so it makes you special :p

Now this is getting close to jewelry so I’m in lol.

I love a man wearing a watch. It shows character. Someone who cares about detail, style and efficency!

I don’t have expensive watches but I always wear one.

I wear a digital watch that talks to my cell phone. In addition to the time, it counts my steps and can check my heartbeat and a few other functions that I rarely use. I have tried to lose it a number of times. ( not on purpose ). It's not one of those $150 - $200 ones, but an everyday watch that reminds me to walk, walk, walk. Oh, it has an internal battery that I charge about every three days.

Yes! It completes the "package" of a stylish gentleman. Just like decent shoes.

So it probably re-sets its time based on the cell towers for the phone. That would be much more accurate than any mechanical watch, but that's not why people wear mechanical watches. ;)
