So here’s an idea about UFOs and Aliens that I could certainly get behind based upon my significant psychical experiences. I have seen future events - either clearly or slightly skewed at times - literally hundreds of times; so I have 100% personal confidence that seeing events at alternate points on what we perceive as a timeline is possible. I don’t know how my psi function works, I only know that it does. So I can make a leap to accept that “controlled” time travel is also possible.
With that said, maybe our perception of a flying saucer could be sightings of active human time traveling “machines”. I could even accept that people might not be seeing an actual physical device but instead psychically perceiving same instead. By that I mean, maybe time machines don’t physically move through time but instead those machines might induce psychic time travel for those inside and then outsiders in our point on the timeline can reasonably perceive those machines’ physical structures. Maybe those machines - rooms, structures, etc. - don’t even fly in their point on the timeline but when arriving/projecting into our own point on the timeline they aren’t limited by our physics so they can fly or land. (This last musing won’t fit easily with the instances where UFOs are seen sitting on the ground on landing struts that seem to leave physical depressions on the ground nor evidence of engine blasts. What it does fit into though is the often reports that the “object moved silently”. It might also support so many claims of the aliens communicating with outside observers psychically. [Edited to add in that this musing might also explain why/how the reported UFOs often make wild turns and move at incredible speeds even accelerating from a dead stop.])
Great post! I think that most people who have considered the time travel theory did so from the point of view of a physical vehicle which people moved physically in, like a disc, cigar or triangle shaped Delorian that jumps when it hits Mach 8.8 or something then crashes into some farmers field. (Actually does that work? Could Back to the Future explain everything?) But you see things from the future as do other people and I have at least once, so I accept that as something that can happen somehow and the idea that people are projecting part of themselves through time is worth considering.
Also worth thinking is the idea that if you can astraly project across time then what of space? It stands to reason that that should also happen and there are cases of people doing just that. The Catholic church has a few including a nun who was simultaniously in her nunnery and over the Atlantic in the Americas hanging around with the locals. In another case... well (I should look these things up again, but I lost all my notes and bookmarks when my old PC died and am having to go on memory!) somebody else was in two places at once at various times. I think that this may be a part of the doppelganger phenomenon. There are nearly identical physical doubles of people and I have one who I met once, but what if other cases are not that but the person unconsciously projecting part of their consciousness to another place where it's seen and interacted with by people? Despite my double I wonder some of the times people have sworn that they met me in places that I wasn't. I was, according to one friend at a festival they went to and another friend freaked out at me because I'd been at a swimming pool with her that morning we hadn't spoken for long but she was convinced it was me... only I hadn't and she couldn't understand why I would play such a childish and lame joke as pretending not to have been. She got pretty upset and it took another friend to explain about my near double to convince me that I was serious. But she still didn't believe it was somebody else. And she did know me!
Sorry to hijack this into more anecdotes! But it seems likely to me that many people (mostly unreported or not understood)
are jumping around across time and space in an uncontrolled way. Your idea bout using a machine makes sense as a means of focusing and controlling that rather than it happening randomly. And maybe they focus only travel across distance and not time?
Other thoughts.
I wonder if many of the landing reports are staged and unconnected? At one famous case recently had evidence show up suggesting that it may have been a collage student prank. A really epic prank, but if students could do it why not others. There's evidence of the USAF intelligence staging them too. I don't know if all can be explained away but it's worth thinking about that landings could be a different thing to flights. Encounters with beings and no craft could be either or neither.
Precognition seems to far outweigh... postcognition? People seem to see the future more than the past. Does time not allow going back? And if so are the hypothetical time travelers really from the future, or the past?
Reports of UFOs matching the modern conception are truly sketchy and possibly non-existent before the 1940s. Weird things happened and weird beings were here but not flying around in futuristic looking aircraft faster than sound and doing U-turns, or at least not often or conclusively. If time travel can go back then nobody should have been surprised by Foo Fighters or Kenneth Arnold's sighting in the '40s since they would have been seen forever! I can't believe no time traveler would want to look at the first world war or the events leading to the second.
Why aren't UFOs at every major event in history? Either there is a Sam Becket limitation or it's not possible to travel backwards. Equipment to focus ESP doesn't necessarily need future technology. What if somebody found out how to do it in, say the 1920s or 1930s and started scouting ahead?
Did a German group manage to fuse science and magic in the 1930s when that was the rage and then make sure to flee before the war went tits up?
Did America send spies into its own future to rip off its own future technology? And if so to either these or other possible travelers then how many times has future knowledge been used and did it change things? How often?
In my own experience with 'aliens' I lost my memories of most of what happened but I do remember that I was shocked by what they really were, appalled at what they were doing and that I broke something vital to them which caused them to go beserk. Finding out that they were human beings from the past stealing information from the future who may have created and were threatening to erase the world I live in would certainly fit!
Thanks Wands for provoking this train of thought.
