On last night's show, we heard about Sigils. I have been familiar with them for years, but some of you said it's new to you. Here's a fairly good rundown on what they are and how to make them.

sigil magic

As always, they can be used for dark or light. Two sides to everything. However, I have only used them for good things.

Long story short, they are used as intentions would be. It's an outward manifestation of an inward intention. Louise Hay, Louise Hay RIP, found that positive affirmations worked to have the subconcious mind work on healing the body and bring about positive changes. The same principle applies to Sigils. They can be used as positive affirmations of what you wish to have in your life.

Many consider them to be "magic" tools, but magic is simply an outward manifestation of an inward intention. Sigils have been used for centuries in this manner in all religions.

In numerology, the number 8 is often used as a sigil! It signifies money, and by placing the written number of 8 in your wallet draws money to you. (Caution, also use the number 2 with it on a separate piece of paper in that wallet so the money doesn't come from the death of someone, like an inheritance).

So! Now that you know a bit about what they are, have you ever used one before?

Good explanation. I think carrying objects for luck like a rabbits foot or a horse shoe over the door would be examples of a common one. Is that right ?

A sigil is more of a drawn or carved symbol, usually made with simple lines and geometry. Think something similar to the zodiac killer's letters.

Usually you're the one creating the sigil, and that helps put your intentions into it. Then you find your own way to charge it. You could hide it, bury it, burn it like I do, or some people even eat it lol. I heard one woman on tumblr drew a sigil into a thanksgiving pie crust.

Lynne, they can be as simple as this

With just an intention associated with it,

Or you could have something elaborate like this

And they can be used for summoning, astral shenanigans, or just putting your intentions out to the universe.

My suggestion is if you dabble in this, careful with sigils from the internet. I say this because I could tell you to draw this

Which is in fact a sigil for summoning Andras, a Goetic demon who can kill a magical operator if they summon him with or without all precautions.

I don't see anything wrong personally with using sigil magick as a Christian, but you know, we have our boundaries, so stay within that and you should be safe

Good job on expanding that explanation, Charleh. Lynne, a sigil should always be drawn by the one using it for their intentions. And a rabbit's foot is more of a "charm". A sigil is as Charleh says...it deals with sacred geometry and is a drawn symbol.
