You don't often hear of UFO's emitting sound. I know the one I saw was deathly silent.

The sound is an unusual component to the story. I suppose that even if UFOs are extra-terrestrial or inter-dimensional in nature, they could still be subject to mechanical problems... maybe this one had the equivalent of clattering valves or a bad timing chain.
