There's a new malware threat going around via email. The email will have subject titles such as "Purchase Order #130527" or "Confirmation". These emails will have PowerPoint presentations attached with names such as "order.ppsx" or "invoice.ppsx". But look out for a .ppsx or other PowerPoint format at the end of the file name.

This presentation, when opened, will have a hyperlink saying "Loading...please wait". If the user moves the mouse pointer over the hyperlink, it triggers the malware to infect the computer. So in this case you don't even have to click on a link or button to trigger the malware but simply hover the mouse pointer over the malicious link. What the malware does all depends on the payload attached to the malware it downloads from the attacker's server, but it essentially runs PowerShell commands. In simple terms, the attack can run commands of the highest level thereby allowing the attacker to perform or execute malicious and damaging actions on your system.

If you get such an email, check the attachments but DO NOT DOWNLOAD THEM, and if it matches something along the lines of what was described above, delete the email. Please spread this message around and make others aware of it.
