Jews leaving France in fear

Just pray that all people, regardless of their faith, don't have to flee from their country because another group doesn't like them.

I'm afraid you're right. What's going on in France right now is the biggest argument to be made for the importance of cultural assimilation. I fear that we may be headed down the same path, because no one who immigrates to the US anymore wants to become and American. They just want the benefits of living and working here, but want to keep their own culture and not adapt to ours. This ultimately leads to a fractured society at odds with itself.
