Okay, let's pretend I'm coming to visit your city, town, hamlet or burg. Your job is to point me in the direction of nearby attractions that I would find entertaining and edifying in some way. Where 'ya gonna send me?

I'm afraid that in my time in Arkansas I haven't really explored much in the way of attractions, except for the state parks and the like. I have visited the Clinton Presidential Library, but that was before we moved here. Still, I think it's a worthwhile destination simply for the historical nature. There's also the Crater of Diamonds, where you can search for your very own diamond. I've never been, but Debi has mentioned that she was there once.

If you told me you were going to Kansas City, I'd tell you to see the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. The Kauffman Center bears at least a passing resemblance to the Sydney Opera House, and the acoustics are wonderful. We saw Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone there early in 2012.

There's a saying here....there's more than corn in Indiana! lol

First, we go to Speedway to see the track and the Indianapolis 500 Museum. Preferably NOT in the month of May.

Then we're off to the Eiteljorg. It's a Native American and Western Art Museum. They always have something going on as far as festivals or new exhibits.

How about the Mounds State Park to see where the local Indian population claim they buried the giants? There's also the town of Nashville, IN, in Brown County. It's a lovely little town full of tchotchkes and small shops that have men moaning as women heat up the credit cards for those must have, overpriced eclectic things.

Or how about we go to Metamora? It's a lovely little canal town with lots of history, but the hidden plus is that it has more psychics and spiritualists than anywhere in Indiana.

How about a Colts game? Or Pacers? The "Circle" in downtown Indy has something going on every weekend. Free concerts pretty much all summer around here, too. The huge Farmer's Market is a great place to go and not only shop but to taste food from around the world.

For a town in "The Middle", we're a very busy, active place.

By me in Westchester, I would take you to Rye Playland Park.

Playland is a park with trees, a beach with a boardwalk, an ice skating rink, an amusement park and a nature preserve all on the same grounds. It is hours of fun.

Then about 45-60 minutes south is NYC with all it's famous landmarks. My favorite thing to do in NYC is take a lunch or a dinner tour up and down the East River. There is live music (usually a piano player), great food and amazing views.
